WELCOME...

...to the website of Lower Perkiomen Little League! The home of youth baseball and softball in the Perkiomen Valley for over three generations!

The next meeting of the Board of Directors is scheduled for Sunday, August 3 at 7 PM at the Skippack Township Municipal Building, Community Room A.

2008 Fall Ball Registration Information

The Little League Fall Ball Program is a Training and Development program for players who will be 8 or older in the Spring of 2009.  It is provided as an instructional program to allow players to begin play “at the next level” to experience the format at the next level of play, to be provided an opportunity to play new positions, and to hone their skills at old ones.  There are NO playoff, tournament, or All Star games.  Players are grouped according to their playing age for the 2009 Season.  To the extent possible, all games will be played “in-house.”  It is currently anticipated that all games will be played on the weekend at Skippack Township’s Palmer Park or Skippack Elementary School.

For those of you with sons who “graduated” from Little League Baseball this spring, our Fall program offers an excellent opportunity for them to begin the transition to a regulation field (90’ bases) and new base running experiences (yes, they can finally take a lead!).  Junior / Senior League home games are played at Jeanne Rossett French Memorial Park (aka “French Field”) on Township Line Road in Skippack Township (about a mile from Palmer Park.

Walk-in registration will be held on the following dates and times at the pavilion by Field 1 at Palmer Park:

Thursday, August 7, 6:30-7:45 PM
Tuesday, August 12, 6:30-7:45 PM
Saturday, August 16, 9:30-10:30AM

You can also register online or complete and mail-in the registration forms.  The forms can be found on our "Handouts Page".

Please note the registration requirements:  A registration and medical release form must be completed for each player.  Proof of residency and age are required for each player who did not participate in the Spring 2008 program.  A parent or guardian for each player must read and sign the Parental Conduct Pledge.  Volunteers must complete the Volunteer Application Form; a criminal record check will be conducted for manager and coaching candidates.  (Volunteers who submitted these forms in the spring need not resubmit.)

Please note that due to historical enrollment levels, we are currently running the Fall program for baseball only.  If sufficient interest exists, we are more than happy (and would welcome) running a program for softball (all ages) and tee ball (ages 5 - 7) as well.  Just let us know!

Attention Managers and Coaches:

If you need to contact the Officer on Duty on your game day for any reason, you can now call 215-510-1598.   The OD will have the phone with them while they are on duty.  They can assist you with any emergency, equipment need or question.  If you are at an offsite location for practice or a game and you are concerned about lightning, you can find out the latest status at Palmer Park.

Rainout Information:  Call 610-489-4414  In the event of inclement weather or poor field conditions, cancellation of Lower Perk games will be announced at this number.  Please note that unless otherwise specified, if all games are cancelled, all other outdoor activities (e.g., practices, work parties, etc.) are also cancelled.

Please note that on days when there are no games scheduled, field closures will not be announced at this number.  Managers must use their discretion.  They are entrusted with the safety of the players and the integrity of the fields.  As a general rule, if your shoes get soaked in the grass and / or you leave any kind of an impression / footprint on the infield dirt, it's too wet to play and definitely too wet to use the fields.
