Champions

Congrats to Pete and the boys and girls from P.I. Paint for their season and championship this weekend. I was expecting the Braves to put up a fight, but P.I. bats were on fire and the defense was just as good. Great job and thank you to all teams, and players for the past 6 years for making our league what it is.
Have a great off season, and hope to see you all next year
Moose

Congrats to PI Paint for winning yesterday. Braves had a great season just to bad they didn't show up yesterday.

Ralphie At The Bat

The Braves and PI battled one final time,
as the crowd filled up the stands.
The top of the 7th saw PI on top,
while excited spectators gripped beers in their hands.

The crowd-favorite Braves were looking to repeat.
Moose polishing their trophy, a tear in his eye.
But they first had to score at least 2 runs,
to overcome the loathed and dreaded PI.

Two hard fought games had led to this point.
Each team working hard for a split.
But Ramon had his big boys coming to the plate,
all gunning for that game-changing hit.

Eager to start the teams were all set.
The culmination to a long softball year.
But the 7th was delayed for a few minutes more,
'Til the Bombers returned from buying more beer.

Pablo quickly singled and Jody was walked.
Ryan signaling Peter he was all right.
The buzz in the crowd fell down to a hush,
While Chip held his Braves hat wicked tight.

But Jordan bore down and got 2 quick outs,
With a pop-up and a great dive by Kirk.
Yet, lo and behold, waiting in the on-deck circle
Was that arc pitch stud Ralphie and his smirk.

He reached in his bag for his weapon of choice.
Mad applause erupted to dispel the hush.
As Ralphie strode up with a gleam in his eye,
Gripping his illegal Mizuno Orange Crush.

A ball, then a strike, and another outside
How it would play out nobody knew.
Both teams on edge as the drama was built.
Tension mounting with the count 3 and 2.

The lights cast a glow down on Harry Allen Field
One swing could put the Braves ahead.
Adoring fans on their feet began cheering his name.
When something completely different happened instead.

The Mighty Ralphie didn't get a chance to swing.
Causing all the fans to wail, scream, and shout.
There'd be no joy in Bravesville as he was carted away:
Ralphie's green card had run out.

A shocking conclusion to Lowell's Co-Ed season.
And, of course, the PI Reunion Tour.
So Moose, if you're reading get up off your ass.
We want trophies! You now owe us FOUR!!
