Rebels FInish 2nd in the Disney Spring Classic
The Runnin Rebels began the weekend shorthanded leaving behind some players due to testing, but that didn't stop the players who were there. The Runnin Rebels started the game slow against the St.Paul Stars with the score being only 16-14 at halftime. The Rebels started the 3rd quarter with a 12-0 run and never looked back by winning of a score 50-23, everyone who played really step up their game. Next in pool play was the SOYSA Hoopsters which was much bigger and more experience by playing at Disney more than one time. Well the Runnin Rebels pulled together as a team probaly playing their best team basketball all year long and winning by a score of 36-22. Everybody really played together and gave a team effort to beat the biggest team we played to date. Next was the semi-finals against Team Daniel All-Stars which was a fiesty team that stayed in the game the whole game but could never catch up to us and we beat them 41-33. We know the finals against Miramar PAL Patriots was going to be a good match-up for us, being they were very gaurd oriented just like us. They came out the gate fast with a 7-0 to start the game. The Rebels behind most of the game fought back and even took the lead in the 3rd quarter but would never lead. The Rebels were behind by 2 or tied most of the 4th quarter but never cought up losing by a score of 53 to 46. It was a very good weekend for the Rebels and also making history to be the first team from the low country to go to a national AAU tournament and place 2nd. The Runnin Rebels will next play at the Adidas National Junior Qualifer for a chance to play at the first Adidas National Junior Championships.

Rebels Take 10U Greenville Championship

The Low Country Runnin Rebels went into Greenville with a chip on their shoulder from the past tournament where the team under performed and finished 3rd.  The event full weekend started out with the team arriving one hour late to an already late scheduled game at 9:45pm Friday night. The Rebels showed how late it was by playing very sloppy and even falling behind being down by 5 at halftime. The Rebels fought back in the 2nd half and won by 2. The rest of the weekend the Rebels destroyed the competition including beating the SC Rising Stars which is 11U team by 8. The Runnin Rebels finished up the weekend by winning the championship by beating the Carolina Raptors 50 to 17. The Low Country Runnin Rebels will next play at the Disney Spring Classic.

Sunday was a up and down day for the team. We started out by beating Rock Hill Elite and advancing to the semi-finals where we would face the 76ers again and for the second time in the tournament they beat us to advance to the championship as we advance to the consolation game.
