I have added the handout to the bottom of this page for those who were unable to attend and I hope you can return those Drive for School forms so we can use that as a fundraiser. Thanks, Coach Kane
Hi, Welcome to another great season of Lourdes Boys Soccer. We will have our pre-season meeting at Lourdes HS in the Commons on April 22nd at 7pm and will go till 8 to 8:30. Please try and make it as we lay out our plans for summer camps and the upcoming season. We ask that the parent(s) and players attend. Please pass on to those that may be interested in our program. If you can not attend please send me an email at tkane97599@aol.com to let me know you are playing and I should have a handout done soon so I can send on to you. Thanks, Coach Kane
I have updated the career stats through this season in the History link and at the bottom of the page under Strong History. Thanks, Coach Kane
3rd Place in State
What a great year and effort by the boys. After finishing one of the most exciting quartfinals in a shootout the boys took on the powerfull Prairie Seeds team and gave it their all only to fall 2-1 in OT. They still followed that up with a great 3rd place win over SPA, who had knocked us out last year in the quarterfinals, so sweet revenge. Three of the boys were named to the All State Tournament team in James Armstead, Jack Convery, and Will Elder. Congrats to those boys and the entire team on a great 20-3 season. There are only 2 teams who finish with a win so it feels good in that regard. We say goodbye to another great group of seniors and I hope you can all make the banquet on Sunday to help recognize the team and those seniors. Thanks, Coach Kane
IN THE DOME
We made it to the Dome and now take on Prairie Seeds. A great finish last night after a very stressfull shootout. The boys will be ready to go again and show we can play with anyone. The team bus will leave at 6:45am Monday. Coach Kane
They changed their minds on day and site:
The seedings were just done:
1 seed = Prairie Seeds vs Sanit Paul Humboldt Thursday Oct 27th 5:30pm Hopkins HS
2 seed= Benilde vs Cloquet St Cloud University
3 seed = SPA vs Mankato West St Cloud University
4 seed = Us vs Sartell Thursday Oct 27th 7:30 Pm Hopkins HS
Thanks, Coach Kane
SECTION CHAMPIONS 2011
We did it again and for the 10th time in our 15 years we are headed back to State. A great job by all. The boys have off today except for the team dinner at Convery's. Practice Thur and Fri at Southern Woods and then banquet on Sunday with bus leaving Lourdes at 10am. Shirt and tie for the boys. Practice next week will be at RCTC when I have our game time after Saturdays state seeding I will schedule accordingly. We have a number of honors handed out this past week. Named to the ALL HVL Conference list were James Armstead, Brian Williamson, Jack Convery, Alan Schembri-Wismayer, and Will Elder. The three who will be honored at the State Banquet are Jack, Alan, and Will. Coach Elder was named Section 1 Asst coach of the year and then today also honored being named State Asst Coach of the year. Congrats to the boys and Coach Elder. Thanks Coach Kane
The section seedings came out today and we are again the #1 seed. We play Cotter Tues night at 7pm at RCTC. Mr Peters has changed the games time for Thur and Sat to 5pm Thur and 2pm Sat. We are looking forward to another run at the State Tournament and the boys are focused on that goal. You can view brackets at www.mshsl.org then click open tournaments-fall-boys soccer- then section brackets. We are Scetion 1. Thanks, Coach Kane
Oct 5th, 2011
Last night with our win over LaCrescent we clinched our 11th HVL crown in a row and in those 11 season we have yet to lose a conference game. It was also Senior night and a chance for us to recognize them and their great accomplishments in our program. The win also assured us of the #1 seed for the sections which will be the 14th year in a row for that also. We are looking for the 10th trip to State in our 15 years. The C Squad has finished their season and it was a good year for them. The JV also finishes Thursday and has had their most successful season yet under Coach Elder. So the future and present looks bright for the Eagles. Thanks to the many volunteers and parents for making this season so great so far. Coach Kane
Sept 27th, 2011
The new polls are out and the boys are still at #4 even with suffering the loss to Northfield but with the following 3 games they played hard and kept the 4 ranking. We are practcing till 5pm on Wed due to the cancellation of Mondays practice we need the time before play #6 Holy Family. It is an early game in Victoria, MN at 5pm so the bus leaves at 2pm for all 3 teams. Thanks, Coach Kane
Sept 26th, 2011
We are cancelling practice due to the constant rain for the 3 squads for today. The Varsity and JV play Cotter tomorrow at Fuad at 5pm and a few of the C squaders will be moved up to JV as the Varsity is taking on more players for the game. The coaches will notify those involved. Thanks, coach Kane
Sept 22nd, 2011
On Thursday night we had a good night night for the 3 squads capped off with an exciting OT victory for the Varsity. The season is progessing well and tweaking things to get ready for the sections. All 3 games on Saturday are at Austin Wescott Sports Complex, Intersection of 4th Ave. NW and 14th St. NW, Austin, MN. Mr Peters has secured us a coach bus instead of two school buses since we are taking 3 squads which is a good thing. Coach Kane
Sept 12th,2011

Sept 7th, 2011
Last night was another milestone in the Boys program with our 250th win. It was a team effort and things are coming together for another strong season. Thanks to all for the great messages and I wouldn't have accomplished this without the great kids who have been in program both past and present. Coach Kane
Sept 1st, 2011
Due to the heat today we are only going to have Varsity and JV practices for 1 hour. The varsity and JV will go till 4:30 and C is going to cancel today and practice tomorrow. The varsity is off tomorrow and practices at 5pm Monday while the JV is off tomorrow and Monday. Thanks, Coach Kane
Aug 29th, 2011
The season started for Varsity and JV on Saturday with the varsity wining 1-0 and JV tying 2-2. It was a strong start against two good Duluth Marshall squads. We get into the HVL play tomorrow with all 3 squads in action at Kasson with the varsity playing on their new turf stadium. FYI on this weekend the Varsity will not practice on Friday but will on Monday Labor Day at 5pm to 6:30 as I have a wedding to go to out of town. The JV and C Squad will practice Friday but not on Monday. I hope this helps with the long weekend plans. Thanks, Coach Kane
GO EAGLES
Aug 23rd, 2011
As always we have had a couple of schedule changes so I have the latest game schedules for all 3 teams with field locations now. Thanks, Coach Kane
Aug 19th, 2011
We have had a good week of tryouts and practice and have selected the teams. For the Blaine Varsity scrimmage on Saturday we will meet at Lourdes at 7:30 with the plan to leave at 7:40. There will be no bus for this so please help out with carpooling. Thanks, Coach Kane
Aug 14th, 2011
The weather looks like it will cooperate for the two days of tryouts. Please make sure you have your goldcard at the first tryout. Thanks, Coach Kane
July 18th, 2011
I have an update on the shinguard rule in that having to have the NOCSAE seal on the front will not take effect until the fall of 2012 so the ones with the seal on the inside are fine for this fall. Thanks to Pam Delaney for asking me for clarification on this. Also, it looks like the heat wave will be over by next week for Camp but please still remember to have plently of water and remember we don't share water bottles. Thanks, Coach Kane
June 30th, 2011
I hope everyone is enjoying the summer so far. I have been to a few games as have the other coaches. We will try and get around to everyone before the summer season ends. I am happy to announce we have filled the C Squad coach position. We actually have 3 previous players who are going to tri-coach the team. They are Nick Rieder, Mac Miller, and Andrew Forliti. I think this will be a great year for the C Squad as there will be allot of experience helping them develop. These 3 will help with the JV and Varsity too. Nick played center mid from 2002-05 and is currently #5 on our all time scoring list with 46 goals and 33 assists. He went on to St Louis University. Mac was a central defender during the 2002-05 years and was partnered in the middle of the defense with Andrew. They were the main cogs in a great defense. Mac went onto Augsburg College where he played all 4 years and Andrew went to St Johns and played his freshmen year. Looking forward to camp the last week in July and show up if you can as it is free and no commitment needed just a way to have some fun and meet all the coaches. There is also no need to sign up in advance. Hope to see you all at camp. If you are not coming remember to get all the details taken care of for your gold card before tryouts on Aug 15th as you can't participate without it. Any questions feel free to email me at tkane97599@aol.com. Thanks, Coach Kane
April 27th, 2011
We have set up the pre-season meeting to be on May 1st at 7pm to 8pm in the Lourdes Alumni Hall. I don't think we need the whole time but wanted to ensure we cover everything. This meeting is for anyone interested in playing Lourdes soccer next fall that are going into grades 8 through 12. This is also for parent(s) and players. We have sent out notices to all of last years players so please spread the word to anyone else that may be joining us. Thanks, Coach Kane
Jan 31st, 2011
I know it is hard to think of next Fall with this continous snow but I have updated the calendar with the Varsity schedule for next year. I will update the JV and C Squad when they are finished. We will be scheduling a spring meeting some time in April again and will let you know in plenty of time to make plans to attend. Thanks, Coach Kane
Nov 5th, 2010
Well a quick end of the season while losing in the quarterfinals at State. Still a great season with a final record of 15-3-3. We had a number of honors in All Conference were Jake Wulff, Paul Convery, Pat Godfrey, Nick Shen, and Karl Krecke. All-State was Jake Wulff and Pat Godfrey was named All-State Honarable Mention and both will play in the Senior Classic on Nov 8th in the dome at 8pm. Karl Krecke was our lone rep on the All State Tournament team. At the letter awards Paul Convery was named MVP and Alan Schembri-Wismayer was named Most Improved by their teammates. Remember the banquet on Sunday Nov 7th at 11:30am at Willow Creek Golf Course. Please bring all your bags for varsity and JV and uniforms for C Squad if you haven't turned them in yet. I have also updated the stats for this season and you can find under the history area. Thanks, Coach Kane

SECTION 1 CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!
After a hard fought battle with Winona the boys are now on to State for the 9th time in our 14 year history. The plan is to practice today and Thursday at Southern Woods and have off Fri. and Sat. Sunday is the State Tournament banquet and then back to practice Monday and Tuesday at RCTC 3:30 to 5. The boys have worked hard to get this far and still have one more goal of a State Championship to accomplish off of our pre-season list so we will be working hard towards that goal. Thanks for all the support and GO EAGLES. Coach Kane
Oct 11th, 2010
We had 5 players named All-Conference and they were Paul Convery, Nick Shen, Pat Godfrey, Jacob Wulff, and Karl Krecke. I was also named Section 1 Coach of the Year. Congratulations to the boys and thanks for getting me that honor through their play. Coach Kane

HVL Champs & #1 Seed
We have ended another strong season going 12-2-3 in what was the toughest schedule yet for us. We also continued the string of HVL Championships and were undefeated like the ten years of HVL action so far. We also have continued the string of the #1 seed at Sections. We have a bye Tuesday and next play Thursday night at 7pm vs the winner of PEM and Byron. Thanks and please come out to the playoff games and cheer the boys on. Coach Kane
Oct 3rd, 2010
As the regular season winds down I want to say thanks for those that volunteered for jobs while we played at RCTC stadium this season and for this weeks games there. I have requested to get help for the PIZM game at the RCTC stadium Tuesday night as even though it is their home game that we help them out with all the volunteer jobs as their fields aren't useable and it would be hard for them to get their volunteers here. On Thursdays game at the stadium we play at 5pm so those C Squad players that volunteer to be ball runners we will excuse you from the C Squad practice. I also want to thank Mike Armstead for the pictures I have used for the seniors here and the pictures of the players in the roster tab. Lots of other good pictures so I would be happy to share the CD. Thanks, Coach Kane
Sept 29th, 2010
Due to the PIZM fields being destroyed by the flood we are moving the games. The JV will play at the new Byron HS ( East Field) at 5pm. The varsity will play at RCTC at 8pm so a week on the turf before playoffs will be nice. This will still be an away game so we will be wearing purple and no idea if they need help with the scoreboard or not but I am checking on it. Thanks, Coach Kane
Sept 27th, 2010
We tried to work out a make-up date with Mankato East but to no avail with only two weeks left in the regular season neither of us had open room at the same time. The PIZM game will be changed to here and I will let you know the details as soon as I know also. Their fields were destroyed in the flood. Coach Kane
Sept 24th, 2010
Mankato East has checked their fields again and deemed them unplayable so the game was cancelled and we are working on a re-scheduled date. Coach Kane
Due to the flood issues by Owatonna we are moving up the departure time to 10am from 10:20am for Mankato East tomorrow. There is an I35 closure by Hwy 14 interchange and a mudslide problem by Waseca. Mankato East said the fields are fine there so the games are going on as scheduled. Coach Kane
Sept 23,2010
We have cancelled tonights Varsity and JV game with Cotter due to the weather. The make-up date is Oct 6th at 7pm at Rochester Regional Stadium but will be Varsity only. C-Squad is also cancelling practice tonight. The Varsity and JV will practice 3:30 to 5 tomorrow since we have had a couple days off to prepare for #1 Mankato East on Sat. The C Squad has a game vs Byron tomorrow. Coach Kane
Update: Park and Rec has requested that no games be played at Faud for 2 days. With that we have moved tomorrows C Squad game to Oct 8th at 4pm at Faud #3.
Sept 21st, 2010
Last night was a tough night in Northfield for both teams. The bus for Lake City will leave at 3:30 today and the varsity will go eat after dropping off the C Squad for their game . Then the C Squad will eat after the game for those that are staying for the varsity game. If you plan on taking your son home after their game please let Coach Costa know. Here is the picture schedule for Sept 29th at Lourdes:

On Mondays game the varsity is in the stadium at Northfield HS and the JV is at Spring Creek Park 2 blocks east of the HS. Coach Kane

Sept 12th, 2010
Another great game for the boys in beating Breck. Just a reminder for Tuesday, due to election primary the game has to be done by 6pm so that is the reason for the 4:00 game at Benilde. The Lourdes kids will be excused at 1:21 and the bus leaves for Benilde at 1:30. The grade school kids will need notes in order to get out early and I ask that the boys try and have their soccer shorts on as we are cutting it close on getting there. The varsity will be playing on the new turf field in the stadium. Benilde is currently ranked #3. Coach Kane
Sept 8th, 2010

Looking at a cooler night tonight especially for the Varsity game at 7pm so please make sure you have both long and short sleave uniforms in your bag so we can decide what is best at game time. Also, remember it is white at home. We are looking for a big crowd tonight for our first home game as it is grade school night at the game and thanks to the captains parents for organizing that. Coach Kane
Aug 29th,2010
The boys had a great weekend of soccer against two strong teams in Duluth Marshall and Hermantown and came out 1-0-1. I want to thank Kevin and Becky Wulff for all their organizing of the Duluth trip as it was a great time for all. The boys play at Byron tomorrow night and the JV and C squad will take a bus that leaves at 3:45 so please be there by 3:30. The varsity will carpool so please be there at the same time. Thanks, Coach Kane
August 23rd, 2010
Please spread the word on the Wicked Moose for Wed night the 25th as it could prove to be a great money maker for our program. Due to road construction I am changing the leave time for Duluth to 10am at Lourdes. Our scrimmage in Blaine went very well and creating allot of optimism for the season. We did suffer what may prove to be a season ending injury for Jake Steinmetz unfortunatley. In the below pre-season poll we are not getting much respect since this is the first time in our history out of the Top 10. We do play 5 of the teams below and the first weekend with Hermantown so we should be able to climb back in with a victory. Thanks, Coach Kane
MSHSSCA Boys A Top 10

August 18th,2010
We just finished tryouts and I have selected all but 2 varsity players with the final decision being made at the Blaine Scrimmage on Sat. We have another great squad in the making and in fact all 3 squads should be strong. We had our largest turnout this year with 60 players in the program. We will keep the site updated with practice schedules and changes as we go. We will start today getting ready for our first game on the 27th for the JV and Varsity while the C Squad starts on the 30th. Thanks, Coach Kane
August 10th, 2010
I hope you are getting down to Lourdes to get your gold cards this week. We have a couple of time changes to our varsity games with adding Kasson to the stadium after losing Breck in there and the LaCrescent game in Oct is now 5pm instead of 7pm in the stadium. Thanks, Coach Kane
August 6th, 2010
We are closing in on the start of our season and again I encourage you to get down to Lourdes in the mornings next week to get your gold card. On the tryouts all of the boys will take part in the morning sessions on the 16th and 17th and the evening sessions are for 9th through 12th graders as the 7th and 8th graders will automatically be on the C Squad. Coach Costa will meet with the 7th and 8th graders after the 17th morning practice to inform them of practice times and other information. He also will meet with the 9th graders after the evening scrimmage on the 17th that are named to the C Squad. Thanks, Coach Kane
August 3rd, 2010
We have had a change in our game schedule on Sept 11th with Breck due to this being a new ACT testing date we had to move the game to the afternoon. RCTC is playing football so we are no longer in the stadium as we are now at the Faud Mansour Complex.
July 27,2010
Upcoming things to keep in mind: Captains have sent out a notice for those 9th thru 12th for their captains practice starting next Monday the 2nd. Tryouts per schedule in the calendar section start on the 16th and you will need a gold card for the first tryout or you will not be allowed to participate until I have that. To get that card you will need to go to the athletic office at Lourdes and do 3 things: fill out the State HS form and sign, have a physical on file , and pay athletic fee. The athletic office is open during the mornings during the week and try to get it done before the 16th as there is always a rush on the 16th. Thanks, Coach Kane
July 25th, 2010
Hopefully you all have found our site as for some reason they changed our name and I am working on correcting. The weather is looking warm this week so please if you are coming to camp to bring lots of water. Make sure you check in so we know who is there and ensure you are on our lists. Myself and the other coaches ( Coach Elder and Coach Costa) are looking forward to meeting everyone. I realize some of the boys are playing in State and may not be there so good luck to them. Thanks, Coach Kane
June 28th, 2010
I hope you are having an enjoyable summer so far. I have been out to a number of games and like what I see in the development of our players. I will continue to get out and see as many as I can before the season ends. Our HS camp is fast approaching and after many questions I thought I would post that there is no pre-registration or fee for this camp. The dates are July 26th through 29th at 3:30-5pm at Southern Woods. We will work on technical skills through drills and small sided games. This is not a requirement nor is it a tryout just a way for everyone to meet the coaches and other players. I do ask that the boys check in so I can see who is on our current list and who is not. Coach Kane
April 27th, 2010
I have attached the team meeting minutes at the bottom of this page for those that were not able to attend the meeting. There was a great turnout and lots of excitement for the upcoming season. We have changed the LaCrescent and Cotter games to RCTC so we now have 5 games on the turf thanks to Mr Peters. Coach Kane
Feb 25th,2010
Due to a conflict with Confirmations on the 18th we moved the meeting to April 25th at 7 pm at the Lourdes Auditorium. Please spread the word. Thanks, Coach Kane
Feb 3rd, 2010
I have updated the schedules for all 3 teams and tryout information. I think we have put together the toughest schedule in our history with a number of new teams. The Parents meeting is scheduled for 7pm on April 18th at Lourdes Auditorium and you will have to enter on the West Center St entrance. Looking forward to meeting new faces and getting ready for another great season of Lourdes soccer. Coach Kane
