BANQUET PLANNING MEETING TODAY
A special planning meeting for the season-end banquet will be held today (Monday, June 22) at 6:30 pm at the pool. Crystal Sandberg and Alice Brewster are coordinating this special event, but we need lots of parent volunteers to help out. Please come to the meeting tonight or e-mail
crystal.sandberg@sbcglobal.net if you would like to volunteer.
RAFT TRIP: DON'T MISS THE BOAT!
There are still a few spots left for the July 4 Raft Trip. If you're interested, contact Mike Curry or Lori Sanders-Curry at 225-4490 or
kidc76@hotmail.com. For those of you who are already signed up, please watch your e-mail for more information in the coming week or so; there are waivers that must be signed before you can get on the river.
CHAMPS T-SHIRTS: GET USED TO THE VIEW
This year we will be offering a special limited-edition LPAC t-shirt for Champs. The bright blue t-shirt will feature the back end of a swimming penguin with the slogan "Get Used to the View." A copy of the order form is posted under "Handouts". Shirts are available in men's, women's, and kids' sizes for $20, and all proceeds benefit LPAC. For more information, contact Kathy Carroll (799-7537) or Pam Fasan (972-8455). Order forms and payment are due to the "T-SHIRT" file no later than this Friday, June 26.
11-14 SCAVENGER HUNT: WEDNESDAY
Anyone in the 11-14 age group is invited to a fun scavenger hunt at Oakridge Mall this Wednesday, June 24 at 11:00 am. If you plan to participate, please RSVP to Nancy Keslin: 224-6408 or
nkeslin@yahoo.com. Parents, if you can stay and help out, we'd love to have you. This event will be tons of fun!
MEET #4: MONTEVIDEO @ LPAC ON SATURDAY
This Saturday is our last home meet of the season, and we need to get started just a little earlier this time. Swimmer check-in will start at
6:30 am. All swimmers must be checked in and ready to start warm-ups at 6:45 am. Parent volunteers also need to check in when they arrive. The meet will start at 7:45 am.
Remember, if you will not be attending this meet, you need to let both the coaches and the volunteer coordinators know ASAP. Swimmers, don't forget to check OUT with the coaches if you leave the meet early.
SWIM-A-THON: NEXT TUESDAY
Our team's annual swim-a-thon fundraiser will be held next Tuesday, June 30, during regular practice times. Pledge forms are already in your family files (and also attached to this e-mail). Swimmers, try to collect lots of pledges this week -- and then swim as many laps as you can to help the team earn funds for much-needed equipment and special events like the Overnighter!
Everyone who participates gets a doughnut or bagel. Fun prizes will be awarded to the swimmers who swim the most laps in each age group, and special prizes are awarded to the top two pledge earners for the entire team (one boy and one girl). This is also a great chance to see just how many laps you can swim. The coaches will set specific goals for each age group, and all swimmers who reach their goal will receive a coupon for a free In-N-Out burger !
Parents, we still need more volunteers to help count laps during practice (including night practice). If you're available to help, please put your name on the sign-up list at the pool. We appreciate your help in this important fundraiser for the team.
SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR AWESOME PARENTS
Crystal Sandberg and the volunteer coordinators want to thank the many LPAC parents who go above and beyond the call of duty -- often working extra shifts to help fill in time slots. We truly appreciate all of your help!
CHAMPS REMINDER
The final Championship meet of the season will be on Saturday, July 18. Swimmers must participate in at least 3 dual meets this season to be eligible for Champs.
