Who We Are:

      THE LONG ISLAND YANKEES HAVE DECIDED TO END AFTER 6 YRARS OF SUCCESSFUL BASEBALL.  COACHES AND A CORE GROUP OF PLAYERS HAVE MOVED TO COACH AND PLAY WITH NEXT LEVEL BASEBALL. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED YOU CAN GO TO http://www.nextlevelbaseball.us/ OR EMAIL THEM AT Info@nextlevelbaseball.us 

   The Long Island Yankees Youth Baseball combines individualized instruction, small roster size, and a dedicated coaching staff to develop the necessary chemistry for success.  The practices and instruction are well organized and planned to assure maximum development of each player.  The LI Yankees are committed to the development of elite travel players presently born on or after May 1st 1997. 


     Through effective communication and honesty, all players in the program understand their role and the importance of fulfilling it to the best of their abilities.  Hard work, passion and unselfishness form the backbone of The Long Island Yankees team.

The Long Island Yankees started in the summer of 2006 and has had the following success: 

  • Ended The Summer Season of 2011: 38 Wins - 11 Losses (2 Ties) 
  • Boys of Summer 13U Champions - Summer 2011

  • ECTB National Championship (Allentown PA) Tournament 20011 - Top 4 (out of 22 teams)
  • BPM/ECTB Championship Tournament 2011 - 1st place
  • Ended The Summer Season of 2010: 30 Wins - 8 Losses 
  • NJBL Summer 2010 - 1st place in league play 2nd place in Playoffs
  • Glen Cove Tournament 2nd  Place 2010
  • Cooperstown All Star Village July 2010 - 3rd Place (7 - 2 Record) 
  • NCYAA Fall 2009 - Champions
  • NJBL Summer 2009 - Champions American League
  • NJBL Summer 2008 - 4th  Place American League
  • Disney’s Sun and Surf Tournament 2008 - 2nd place
  • NJBL Summer Playoffs 2007 - 2nd  Place American League 
  • Glen Cove Tournament 2007 – Undefeated Division Champions
  • Glen Cove Tournament 2nd  Place 2006

 

 John Givargidze - Head Coach of The Long Island Yankees:

  • Varsity Coach at North Shore High School
  • 3yr Captain on Molly College Baseball Team
  • All-NYCAC (97-98); All-NY State (97-98); All-Region (97)
  • Played professional Ball in the Frontier League
  • Assistant & Head Coach at the HS, Jr. HS and College Level
  • Head Coach for the Bayside Yankees
  • NYS Teaching Certification (Pre K – 6th)

Rob Gates - Assistant Head Coach of The Long Island Yankees:

  • Varsity Head Coach at Elmont High School
  • Has Coached at the JV and Jr. High Level
  • Played NCAA Division II Baseball for 4 Seasons
  • Assistant Captain and Team President at Molloy  College
  • Ranked Second in Career Complete Games and Fifth in Strikeouts per 9 innings in College
  • Awarded Most Valuable Pitcher Award after his junior season
  • Selected to play in the NY State Coaches Association All-Star Game after his senior year
  Thomas Lucchese Jr. - Assistant Coach of The Long Island Yankees:
  • Coached 2010 High School All-Star Game for Nassau County  
  • 4yr Division II College Pitcher – Sunshine State Conference  - Eckerd College  
  • Baseball Team Captain in College
  • Summer Baseball Instructor at New York Baseball Academy
  • Pitcher and Short Stop for North Shore High School
  • All League and All County Honorable Mention In High School
  • Winning Pitcher in HS county Championship game 2004
