11/12 All Stars come up just short in the Southern California Championship

The 11/12 All Star Team miracle run has ended.  Our boys ran into a feisty team from Encinitas.  Despite dropping 2 out of 3 games in the Southern California Championship in El Cajon, our boys ended up going the farthest of any team since our LLWS Champions in 1993.

Our boys played with pride and dignity and represented Sub Division 3, Section 5 and District 38.  The games had a family reunion feel since we had such ardent fans who continued to follow the team as we moved from Long Beach to Brea, then on to West Covina, and finally stopping in El Cajon.

Our Saturday double header at Mor Field in El Cajon felt like it was Opening Day at Stearns Park.  The number of LBLL families that made the drive blew me away.  It was humbling to see such support from our All Stars.

I would like to say a thank you to the players, coaches and fans who made this a summer to remember.

Sincerely,

Sean Pettway
