Stumbled across your site while looking for something else but glad to see a few names that looked familiar. I pitched in S. Cal for many moons about 100 years ago (Chuck Vranich was a wrong field hitting outfielder for Matthew Bronze) and Ronnie Rupp was still haunting the playgrounds and leaving the "serious softball" up to his Dad. Also good to see that Chuck Chaple is still around (played on a Coors team with him in the 80's). Also recognized Jim Flanagan's name and good to see that the Valdivia clan is still upholding the family softball tradition in Beaumont. Saw the name of Chris Minoque, he must be Dick's son. I used to pitch 5 or 6 games a week when fastpitch was in it's heyday (Long Beach city league had 5 levels A thru E leagues with over 250 teams) and also pitched with and against the big teams of the era including the LB Nitehawks, Lakewood Jets, and all the other Congress, PCSL and Inland Empire Leagues. Also won SCMAF titles at all levels. The best softball in the country was centered from Oxnard to San Diego in the 1970's with the epicenter in Long Beach and Lakewood. I haven't played since 1993 when I moved to Texas. I was sorry to discover that fastpitch was dead in Dallas when I arrived and as any "true athlete" knows, slo-pitch just isn't a lot of fun. In signing off, my congrats to Chuck for hanging around into his 60's and congrats also to Chaple and the other "old warriors" for keeping the spirit. Maybe we'll all join up again in the after life. My idea of the perfect heaven would be a doubleheader at either Mayfair Park or Joe Rodgers Field. Best wishes to all, Dick Camp

Fred Hanker, If you or anyone you know would like to raise money. I have a money making funnel that are used in malls and stores like walmart. People put coins in the slot and the coin goes around the funnel down a hole, into a lockbox. This one is very nice. Let me know if your interested.I sold two to the L.A Zoo and they are very happy with them. My phone # is 909-240-2297. Call anytime. steve chacon

WOW Hanker. This site is awsome! I'm not sure everyone knows how much work keeping these sites updated takes. You have certainly set the bar high for the rest of us. I would also like to wish your team good luck but with that roster you have who needs it. Skill goes much farther than luck will take you. ;) See you on the field. Ken Shaw #9
