Saturday Night Lone Mountain Honored the 2009 All Star Teams.

After Whitney Houston sang the National Anthem the game got underway The Gold team coached by Dave Caniglia (Indians) got one in the second inning. They opened it up with 5 in the third and went onto win 11-1. The game had singles, doubles, triples, Big Strikeouts by the pitchers, a double play, and yes a Triple Play. The Gold team was led by Nick Johnson, Adam Bronston, Gavin Caniglia, Gabriel Campos, Ryan Kelley, Parker Sieck, Issac Mendoza, Nick Roeper, Sagan Gronauer, Patrick Schrader, Cody Schott, Ryan Hurley, and Gage Fiorentino. The Blue was coached by Phil Thomas (White Sox) they were led by Tyler Daraban, Connor Strong, Chris Rice, Cody Workman, Anthony Jarmillo, Nick Thomas, Dylan Baker, Matt Shaw, Caden Jangard, Amari Tatum, Samantha Milanovich, Michael Mariscol, and Payton Moody. It was a Fun Night Special Thanks Goes out to Greg Daraban, Danielle Strong, Georgianna Haines, and Chris Strong and our Sponors for making this night happen. In front of the biggest crowd for a minors game this year the Pirates hung on to win. The game was filled with hits, errors Strikeouts, doubles, singles, and Home Runs in the Park, and over the fence. Adon hit one over the centerfield wall. The pitching was great with Andrew Resler (Angels) and Tyler Daraban (Pirates). The scoring was 4-2 Angels at the end of one, 5-4 Pirates at the end of two, at the end of 3 it was 6-5 Pirates, Pirates 12-5 at the end of 4 innings. At the end of 5 innings it was 13-10, and in final inning Gage Fiorentino threw a great pitch, Logan roped it, but right at Pirates, leftfielder Andrew Snyder who threw a perfect throw to Pirates third baseman Trevor Glisson for a force out to hang onto the win 13-12. Other Noteables: Pirates Drew G was 3 for 4, Nathan W was 2 for 4, Cody was 2 for 4, CJ was 2 for 4. For the Angels Trey Urban was 2 for 3, Logan was 2 for 4, Landen was 2 for 3, Both teams played great ! Both teams put on a great show, and the fans in attendence were treated to a great game. Congratulations to both teams. Majors Tournament Final Red Sox defeat Rays in an extra inning gem! It took 8 full innings for the Red Sox to score the first and only run in the Majors championship on Field 1 at Children's Memorial Park. Quinn Gallagher, the Red Sox starting pitcher, was able to go 6 2/3, striking out 14 and walking only one. Isaiah Blaylock, the Rays starter, struck out 13 and walked one in 6 innings. A true pitching duel, both teams played outstanding defense. Dustin McDonald scored the winning run in the bottom of the 8th inning. Travis Stevens, the Red Sox closer, pitched the final 1 1/3 innings, giving up no hits or runs. For the fans in attendance, the 2009 championship was a real treat! Thanks to all who enjoyed the End-of-the-Year BBQ at Lone Mountain on May 30th! The Dunk Tank was a huge success- thanks to all the managers who participated! The kids had a great deal of fun dunking their coaches and playing in the Jumpy House. Thanks to all who donated their time in making this a fun event !
