The LOLLL Board will do their best to inform the membership of any cancelled practices or games due to weather conditions. Unfortunately, many times a decision on canceling games cannot be made until the weather runs its course. The Board will follow this procedure in determining a cancellation and notifying the membership:
1. Only two entities can determine a cancelled game due to weather or field conditions; county officials or a director from the LOLLL Board. Managers canceling their games without proper authorization will be subject to a game forfeiture and possible disciplinary action.
2. When practices or games are cancelled due to weather or field conditions, a Director from the Board will update the automated phone answering system to announce the cancellation. The system will be updated no later than 5:00 PM. Regardless of the decision to cancel or play, the message will be updated on all questionable weather days.
3. The Director from the Board will then notify the Director on Duty and the Director of Umpires. An email will then be sent to all members notifying them of the field closure.
4. Members who wish to know if games or practices are cancelled can also contact the field after 5:00 PM.
