9/10 All Star Assessments
Every year Little Mountain forms teams to compete in All-Star and other invitational tournaments.
The 9/10 All-Star team is scheduled to play in the District 1 tournament (hosted by LMB) between June 28 and July 9. The team that wins this tournament would then move on to 9/10 Provincials (North Vancouver) July 14-22.
We are interested in evaluating those players who are interested, capable, and available for this opportunity. To this end there will be an open clinic for 9/10 year old players (age is calculated as at April 30, 2012) this coming Sunday, June 3 from 4-6 pm at Hillcrest Main Diamond (The clinic will begin immediately after the Majors A game scheduled for 1pm).
Attendance is encouraged though by no means a requirement for consideration for selection to this team. Additional try-outs will be scheduled between June 3 and season's end.
Thanks.

Little Mountain Baseball Experience Survey Fall 2011
The Board of Little Mountain Baseball (LMB), felt it was important to ask for feedback from members of our newly formed society in order to understand perspectives of all participants in our Little League.
Our intent in conducting this survey was to learn from LMB member participants as we strive to improve the LMB experience.
The survey was open to all parents with children who were registered at LMB for the 2011 season.
There were 91 respondents to the LMB Experience survey from every Division of LMB – thank you for taking the time to provide valuable feedback. All responses are confidential so privacy can be maintained.
There were two significant findings generated from our survey results:
- 90% of respondents positively rated the LMB Overall Experience
- 94% of respondents would recommend LMB to others.
These are very positive results for any organization, extremely good results for a non profit organization dependant on volunteers to deliver on nearly every service we offer.
The narrative feedback and suggestions, covering everything from the registration process, communication, and coaching, to improving volunteering and understanding the all-star process will be helpful to the Board and we will carefully consider all member comments received in an effort to maintain and improve the LMB experience.
We will continue to re survey our member community each 1 to 2 years to insure LMB maintains the highest quality baseball organization possible for the players, parents, coaches and volunteers who form the heart of our organization. We would like to sincerely thank all respondents for taking the time to share their thoughts with us.
Pat Chaba,
President LMB.
Kris and Steve Gustavson receive Volunteer of the Year Award 2011

Kris and Steve Gustavson were recognized for their dedication to the Challenger program, in particular, and LMB/D1 as a whole. Their dedication to our league and to the Challenger players was evidenced during the very successful Challenger jamboree held June 11, and then they both continued their volunteering running the dunk tank and kid's zone at the Party at the Nat until 10 PM. Congratulations and thank you to Kris and Steve!

Baseball Bats
Little League has tightened their regulations on approved bats for use in Little League games. The LMB Board wishes to inform all of our families that all bats supplied by the league for use in our games will meet Little League’s standards.
Should you wish to purchase a bat for your child, or should your child already have his/her own bat, please ensure it complies with the following specifications:
1. Must be imprinted with “Approved for Little League”2. Must not exceed 33 inches in length
3. Must be printed with a bat performance factor of BPF 1.15 or lower.
LMB has made the further stipulation that composite bats and composite handle bats are not approved for use in house league games. Composite bats can be identified usually by the words "composite" and "half-and-half" on the bat, by their higher cost, and by the plastic feel and sound made when tapped. If in doubt, ask the sales clerk or your coach BEFORE using or taking off the wrap.
Any bat that a player attempts to use in a game that does not comply with these standards will be removed from play.
We have tightened these regulations in the interest of the safety of all our payers and want to ensure that our families are fully informed. We are looking forward to a great baseball season.
