Little Mountain Baseball Experience Survey Fall 2011

The Board of Little Mountain Baseball (LMB), felt it was important to ask for feedback from members of our newly formed society in order to understand perspectives of all participants in our Little League.

Our intent in conducting this survey was to learn from LMB member participants as we strive to improve the LMB experience.

The survey was open to all parents with children who were registered at LMB for the 2011 season.

There were 91 respondents to the LMB Experience survey from every Division of LMB – thank you for taking the time to provide valuable feedback. All responses are confidential so privacy can be maintained.

There were two significant findings generated from our survey results:

-  90% of respondents positively rated the LMB Overall Experience
-  94% of respondents would recommend LMB to others.

These are very positive results for any organization, extremely good results for a non profit organization dependant on volunteers to deliver on nearly every service we offer.

The narrative feedback and suggestions, covering everything from the registration process, communication, and coaching, to improving volunteering and understanding the all-star process will be helpful to the Board and we will carefully consider all member comments received in an effort to maintain and improve the LMB experience.

We will continue to re survey our member community each 1 to 2 years to insure LMB maintains the highest quality baseball organization possible for the players, parents, coaches and volunteers who form the heart of our organization. We would like to sincerely thank all respondents for taking the time to share their thoughts with us.

Pat Chaba,
President LMB.

Congratulations and thank you to Kris and Steve!

The Parent's Pledge
  • I will remember that my child plays sport for his or her enjoyment, not for mine.
  • I will encourage my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence.
  • I will teach my child that doing one’s best is as important as winning so that my child will never feel defeated by the outcome of a game.
  • I will never ridicule or yell at my child for making a mistake or losing a competition.
  • I will remember that children learn best by example. I will applaud good player performances by both my child’s team and their opponents.
  • I will not force my child to participate in sports.
  • I will never question the official’s judgement or honesty in public.
  • I will support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from children’s sporting activities.
  • I will respect and show appreciation for the trained volunteer coaches who give their time to provide sport activities for my child, understanding that I have a responsibility to be part of my child’s development.

Baseball Bats

Little League has tightened their regulations on approved bats for use in Little League games. The LMB Board wishes to inform all of our families that all bats supplied by the league for use in our games will meet Little League’s standards.

Should you wish to purchase a bat for your child, or should your child already have his/her own bat, please ensure it complies with the following specifications:

1. Must be imprinted with “Approved for Little League”
2. Must not exceed 33 inches in length
3. Must be printed with a bat performance factor of BPF 1.15 or lower.

LMB has made the further stipulation that composite bats and composite handle bats are not approved for use in house league games. Composite bats can be identified usually by the words "composite" and "half-and-half" on the bat, by their higher cost, and by the plastic feel and sound made when tapped. If in doubt, ask the sales clerk or your coach BEFORE using or taking off the wrap.

Any bat that a player attempts to use in a game that does not comply with these standards will be removed from play.

We have tightened these regulations in the interest of the safety of all our payers and want to ensure that our families are fully informed.  We are looking forward to a great baseball season.

What will the Weather be like?

Click above to find out the current  and extended weather forecast from Environment Canada. Please assume that all games will proceed rain or shine -- it is the umpire's decision to call the game due to rain, and if your team doesn't show up, they will lose by forfeit!
