The Las Lomitas League is proud to announce that registration for the La Entrada Musical, Walt Disney’s “Aladdin” will open on Monday, February 23rd and run until March 6th. The musical is open to all 4th to 8th graders!

Award-winning score with songs including “A Whole New World” and “Friend Like Me”. Cast to include 6 male and 5 female leads, plus ensemble and chorus. The parent/administration/teacher production team is very excited to announce this upcoming all-school musical Aladdin JR, “where every beggar has a story and every camel has a tail!" All your favorite characters are here in this stage adaption of the Disney hit, including Aladdin, Jasmine, and of course the "Genie.” Musical Theatre International, or MTI, offers the Broadway Jr. series for production at middle schools.

We are currently looking for a parent to volunteer as Parent Producer for the show. Responsibilities include ordering scripts and coordination/ organization of all the parent volunteers who make it all happen! Please Patti Dulea at email or Colin Cooper Mr. Cooper if interested.
Other important information:
- Auditions: These should be fun and relaxed. you will be asked to sing a short song of your choice, or you may sing a song from the show (from web pages below). If you are serious about a role you see on the website, try to prepare for the lead song of that character. You will also be asked to read from the script with a few other students. All students are asked to sing and read, no matter what type of part you are seeking.
- Information on the production of Aladdin JR. can be found by going to www.broadwayjr.com. Click on the Broadway Jr. icon, then on the link to Aladdin JR. Music samples are found by clicking on 'Listen to the Score'. The 'Audition Central' link will take you to the cast descriptions, with samples of the script and the score.
- You are responsible to provide your child's costumes, which must be approved by the Director.
- Ensure your child has lines and songs memorized the day they rehearse that scene per the Director's rehearsal schedule.
- Parents are expected to donate 10 hours of volunteer time with the production. We cannot do this without volunteers. Each play participant will bring home a form for you to choose your volunteer activity.
