Little League Southeastern Region: Region Awards Program




The Southeastern Region Awards Program helps honor leagues and individuals of the Southeastern Region. Awards categories include those that are a part of the Little League International awards recognition program plus additional region-exclusive categories.

Nominations are now opened and are received via email, fax or postal mail via the links below and include an essay explaining the nomination. Additional information may be needed for certain categories.

*Indicates that award is also a part of the Little League national award program, but entry does not place nominee into selection for such award.

^Indicates one honoree for both baseball and softball.



Award Categories

Field of Excellence
The Field of Excellence Award recognizes an outstanding baseball and softball field and the hard working volunteers who maintain them. Eligible fields are those maintained nearly 100% by volunteers and provide a safe, enjoyable facility for Little Leaguers. Nominees are judged on the quality, safeness and appeal of the field(s). Single-field or multi-field complexes are eligible for nomination. A minimum three minute video that shows an overview of the field is to be included in the nomination as well.

Volunteer of the Year*^
As a way to honor an individual who gives selflessly his/her time and efforts for the benefits of the children in his/her communities, the Little League® Volunteer of the Year Award is bestowed to an individual. This individual has contributed a spirited and dedicated commitment to the ideals and goals of the Little League program

Parent/Mom of the Year*^
The Little League Parent/Mom of the Year recognizes a parent/mother who has volunteered countless hours to his/her child’s participation in the Little League program. His/her singular motivation is that their children have the opportunity to learn the value of teamwork, fair play, discipline and enjoy the excitement and fun of summer days on a Little League field.

Good Sport of the Year*^
To honor a Little Leaguer® who exhibits the Little League values of character, courage and loyalty, there is the Good Sport of the Year Award. This individual learns what it means to truly be part of a team and conduct themselves accordingly to the principles of fair play and good sportsmanship.

Little League Challenger Award*
The Little League Challenger Award recognizes an individual whose loyal support and inspired volunteer commitment allows mentally and physically disabled youth the opportunity to enjoy the full benefits of the Little League program through participation in the Challenger Division.

Urban Initiative Volunteer of the Year*^
The Urban Initiative Volunteer of the Year Award annually acknowledges an adult volunteer involved with a Little League program participating in the Urban Initiative. The recipient has provided a positive Little League experience for the children and adults within a local league’s metropolitan neighborhood or community.

Golden Mask
To recognize the volunteer umpire, the Southeastern Region honors such individuals annually with the Golden Mask Award. The award, which was introduced in 2013, honors a volunteer Little League umpire for his/her outstanding service to Little League Baseball and Softball programs across the region.

ASAP Award
Awarded to the first state in the region to reach 100% in approved safety plans each year.



Award winners will be invited to the Southeastern Region Tournament of their choice to receive their award. Each winner will receive a certificate or plaque to honor their achievement. Annual winners are listed both on the Southeastern Region website and inside region headquarters.
