State DA Meetings
The next scheduled meeting of the State DA Association will be on Saturday, Febraury 21, 2009. The location has not yet been finalized (check back later). The meeting will start a 9:30 am. Notification of the meeting will be sent to all DAs approximately 2 weeks prior to the meeting. Every DA is "expected" to attend this meeting. If a DA can not attend an ADA or other District Staff Member should be sent to represent the District.
New IRS Filing Requirements
The IRS has issued new requirements for small tax-exempt organizations. Leagues should make sure they know their filing requirements. Click on the "Title" above to go to the IRS Webpage announcement.

Lightning Detectors - SPECIAL PRICIING
The State of Florida DA Association has an agreement with Thunderbolt Storm Detector for discounted prices for our local leagues. The ThunderBolt detects and tracks storms from 75-miles, providing the user with the Estimated Time of Arrival for approaching storms. Once the storm becomes Local (8 miles), the ThunderBolt provides the user with the Time to Clear (the time necessary for the storm to clear the area inorder to resume outdoor activities). The rugged ThunderBolt has been in use by the most demanding customers worldwide, including all branches of the armed forces, national laboratories, oil refineries and rigs, mining operations, construction companies, schools and universities, youth sports, boaters, campers, and many more.
