An original Sox member, Mike has held the 3d base job over 3 seasons, quickly improving defensively in the first few games of 2001 alone. Mike has a gun from 3rd, making any ball hit to the hot corner almost an automatic out. Riva has also consistently performed at the plate, with more than his share of game-tying and game-winning hits and RBIs. When Mike comes to play, there's no one with more team spirit, no fear attitude or classic movie sound bytes! He's the guy you can't stand on the other team, but can't play without him on yours!
