LIONS TOP PIRATES IN INTERSECTIONAL GAME
The #6 Prattville boys varsity paid the #10 Pirates of Fairhope High School a visit on Friday. This game matched the only 2 Top Ten ranked teams south of the Birmingham area and could well be a preview of the second round of the playoffs in May. Each of the past two years have seen these two teams tangle in the second round and this year is shaping up for a similar meeting.
The Lions were only up by 1 goal at halftime thanks to a tally by forward Matt Wingo. But early in the second half the Lion's offense clicked and 3 more goals went on the scoreboard. Scoring in this offensive blitz were Owen Nichols, Sam Reynolds, and Stephen Grooms.
Fairhope did not give up hope though and they got on the board with 2 goals later in the second half. They are certainly a talented team on offense. Scoring for the Pirates were Alden Harold and Brian Keyser. This marks the first time that Prattville has given up a goal since February 20. The Lions now have a record of 13 Wins, 2 Losses, and 1 Tie.

6th ANNUAL LUCKIE DUCKIE FUNDRAISER UNDERWAY
MESSAGE FROM OUR DUCK LEADER, BABS McCRORY
Greetings all –
If you haven’t seen them, ask your soccer playing son to show you the Duck Race tickets and flyers. All packets have been distributed to JV and Varsity players. Each packet contains one instruction sheet, two flyers, and 25 tickets. In prior years, the players haven’t utilized the flyers to their fullest potential. I’m urging you (the parents) to get the flyers (two in each packet) and post them in various locations, your place of work, a friend’s business, anywhere to get the sales going and interest up.
Players have five full weeks to sell tickets. This includes the full week of spring break. This should be plenty of time to sell tickets. The earlier we sell the tickets, the easier things will be the day of City Fest.
Remember, each player is required to sell or purchase a minimum of 25 tickets. Please turn in stubs and money as early as possible. Note that the top duck sellers will be recognized with a reward at the banquet.
Note: When each soccer player sells all his tickets, we will only have around 300 left to sell to be SOLD OUT!
If you need more tickets or flyers, just let me know. I can always print more flyers. The flyer is also in the handouts section as is the instruction sheet.
Don’t forget. Email your family and friends….tell them to make checks payable to Prattville Soccer Booster Club.

LIONS WIN ON KICKS FROM THE MARK AT AUBURN
The Prattville Lions and the Auburn Tigers had another memorable game Thursday night in Auburn. When these two teams tangle it usually is a very close contest. This game was no exception.
The Lions scored 4 minutes into the game when Jordan Butler lofted a perfect ball into the Auburn box and Nathaniel Lewis (or someone near him in white) knocked it in the net. The score was still 1-0 at the half. Twelve minutes into the second half Auburn leveled the game at 1-1. The game ended regulation time with the same score. Two overtime periods were played without any golden goals by either of the teams.
The match was to be decided by kicks from the mark. Here Prattville prevailed 4-1. All four Lions netted their kicks without a miss or a save by the Auburn keeper. They were Brian Egan, Kaz Strain, Owen Nichols, and Sam Reynolds.
The #5 ranked Lions record is now 19 wins, 3 losses, and 2 ties. They own a perfect 9-0 record in Section 4 play. Their next game will be after spring break against Wetumpka. It will be Senior Night at Stanley-Jensen.

PRATTVILLE DEFEATS WETUMPKA, 9-0
The Indians of Wetumpka High paid a visit to Stanley-Jensen Stadium Tuesday night and faced a rested but focused bunch of Lions.
Prattville led 4-0 at the half thanks to goals by Brian Egan, Owen Nichols, Stephen Grooms, and Ben Draper. The Lions continued to put the ball in the net during the second half. It was keeper versus keeper as Evan Ward scored on a PK. Evan had the extra motivation of know how fast he would have to run if the ball rebounded off the keeper or the goal frame back into the field of play! Carson Meeks next scored for the Lions followed by another PK, this one by Jordan Butler. Sam Reynolds scored a goal 28 minutes into the second half and followed by Kyle Cannon put the last Lion goal in the net.
The Lions complete their 2007 section 4 campaign with a perfect 10-0 record. They next face 2 tough opponents on the road, Thursday night at Trinity and Friday night at Vestavia Hills. Their playoff opponent will be either Dothan or Smiths Station next Tuesday night.
