The Lil Saints Gold team is pleased to announce the recent committment of 3 of our players to continue their playing career at the collegiate level. 

Stephanie Smith, a senior at O'Connor HS, has signed a NLI with Grand Canyon University.  Stephanie is a 3B. 

Congratulations on acheiving your goals Ladies!!

This weekends games will be played at Phoenix College.  We will be playing Phoenix College at 10am and Chandler-Gilbert Community College at Noon.  Be there at 8:30 for warm-up.  We are wearing our gray practice shirts, blue pants, and white socks. 

 The softball fields are located on the NW corner of the Phoenix College campus.  It is about half way between Thomas and Osborne off of 15th Avenue.

Uniforms for this weekend are:

   SAT-Blue jersey, gray pants, blue socks.

   SUN-Red jersey, white pants, red socks.

 Be at Majestic Park by 12:15 on Saturday.

We will be scrimmaging with the Storm Gold & Outlaws Gold this Sunday at Pinnacle HS.  We will play Storm at 10am & Outlaws around 11:30am.  The Outlaws will play Storm at 1:00.  You will need to be there at 8:15 for an extended batting practice & warm-up. 

Our uniforms will be blue jersey, gray pants, blue socks.

Here is the info for the hotel for both of the upcoming Batbusters events this month.  Please call the hotel directly to give them your credit card info.  That will reserve your room.  The reservations are under "Lil Saints Softball".  Our team rate is $109/night.  Please call them ASAP.  Remember that the second event requires us to be in CA by Thursday night.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Jackie Coburn has joined the Lil Saints Gold coaching staff for the 2008-09 season.  Jackie was the Head Coach of the Lil Saints 16U team last summer.  She guided her team to a 17th place finish at the 16U ASA Western Nationals in Portland OR. 

Jackie played her college career at the University of Arizona, where she helped lead the Wildcats to three Women's College World Series appearances.  She started all four years for the Wildcats, splitting time between catcher and third base.  She finished her career 21st on the all-time NCAA Homerun List and fifth in Arizona history with 52.  Jackie finished her senior year hitting .282 with 10 homeruns and 48 RBIs.  Her 10 homeruns were tops on the team and her 48 RBIs were second.  She hit at least 10 homeruns in each of her four years at Arizona while driving in 193 runs in her career.  After being selected by the Heat in the first round of the 2005 College Draft, Jackie emerged as the primary catcher. She finished the season hitting .330 with 5 homeruns and 26 RBIs.  She also led the Heat in walks and sacrifice flies on her way to being named the teams Rookie of Year.

Morgan Long, a senior at Ironwood Ridge HS in Tucson, has committed to Penn State University. Morgan is a SS/2B.

Caty Jutson committed today to Middle Tennessee State University. Caty is a pitcher from Bourgade Catholic HS in Phoenix.
