Letter sent to American Bantam League President
To: President Paul Blackwell
Re: Reinstatement of Lil Red Machine
As President of Lil Red Machine Youth Organization, I’m asking that we be reinstated in the American Bantam League. Also, we are asking that we receive a written letter of reinstatement from the American Bantam League. The reason we feel we should be reinstated is because our program didn’t violate any American Bantam League bylaws that was in writing.
1. We request information from the American Bantam League in documentation what bylaws we violated. The President of the American Bantam League was unable to provide us with any rules that we violated per my request for this information.
2. We request a hearing and have documentation to show we requested a hearing several times.
3. The President of the American Bantam League told me he would give us a hearing but cancelled the next American Bantam League meeting, the day of the hearing. We have documentation of that and witnesses and also the dates. This is not the first time the American Bantam League President violated our rights, were the bylaws clearly states that all the organizations are entitled to a hearing. October of 2012, we filed for a hearing on an issue of who should be in the playoffs, Lil Red Machine or the Allstars. That was the other time the American Bantam League President didn’t follow the bylaws. It was proven we were right on the issue, but was not given due process by the American Bantam League President because he didn’t follow the American Bantam League bylaws, a right to a hearing to us.
4. Since I’ve been running Lil Red Machine I’ve seen this American Bantam League President give the Allstars and Bengals over the past 3 years numerous hearing, by them just picking up the phone and calling the American Bantam League President. The American Bantam League President has always given them a hearing. We requested 2 hearings by the bylaws in writing within the time frame and was not afforded a hearing to present our case because he’s told something by the Vice-President of the American Bantam League, so we don’t get due process.
5. In the history of this league, American Bantam League, there has never been anything in the bylaws stating that organizations without 4 teams can be kicked out. I requested from the American Bantam League President, a document to show me were this rule was written in the bylaws. The American Bantam League President nor Vice-President, cannot place rules in the bylaws without the other Presidents of each organization voting on it that’s how policy is made and written in the bylaws.
So, I’m making this request for reinstatement and a written letter of reinstatement, to settle this matter in house, with the American Bantam League. We can still take legal action in court for damages by the American Bantam League against our organization, Lil Red Machine. We will take legal action in this matter, if we don’t get it settled in house. We have up to 2 years to file this matter with the court from the date of the incident. The question in this case is on the American Bantam League President and Vice-President violating the bylaws.
I hope the American Bantam League President and Vice-President take this matter seriously, because they are the only ones that have violated the American Bantam League bylaws, by taking the voting rights from the other organization Presidents. The policy read, each team makes the rule and policy. That means the American Bantam League President and Vice-President have one vote just like the President of each organization. Lil Red Machine and Lincoln Heights are the last 2 teams, which were the original founders, of the American Bantam League and I’m going to fight for our rights. I want to go on record to say, Jay Jordan is turning over in his grave, by the way the American Bantam League is trying to be run by the powers to be. Because we have one person trying to run the American Bantam League the way his program is run under dictatorship. We as Presidents of our organizations need to hold the American Bantam League President and Vice-President accountable, to make sure they are following what is written in the bylaws and have been voted on by each organization President. We are the ones that set policy.
Donnie Cofer, Sr.
President, Lil Red Machine Youth Organization
