Lightning Volleyball: Erin Calteux Volleyball Endowment

Wednesday, May 23
Erin Calteux

She was a coach,
a comedian,
and a friend;
and is very sadly missed.

On Saturday, January 22, 2005 Lightning Volleyball club lost a member of its family.  Erin Calteux, Boys 13s coach and daughter of Board Members Dave and Jeanne Calteux passed away after being involved  in a car accident.

The “Erin Calteux Celebration of Life Fund” has been established.  This is a volleyball endowment fund in Erin’s name in coordination with Cathage College Volleyball.  A percentage of the interest earned each year from the fund will benefit the ladies volleyball program at Carthage.  They are very pleased to support the college and volleyball program that Erin loved so much.

In conjunction with the endowment fund, Carthage has established an award called the “Erin Calteux Most Inspirational Player” award.  Each year a Carthage “Lady Red” volleyball player will be honored at an Awards Banquet and her name will be added to a plaque bearing Erin’s name and picture.

Anyone who wishes to support the Erin Calteux Volleyball Endowment Fund, may send a check, payable to Carthage College (with a note in the “memo” section of the check mentioning the Erin Calteux VB Endowment), to the following address:

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die.

Time continues to slip by – but our memories of Erin live on forever.

Love – your friends at Lightning
