What is Tournament Team??

For those new to the program and ask "What is Tournament Team?"  Tournament Team is a House League All-Star Team that competes 4 weekends at Vernon Hills, Warren, Avon Township, and Libertyville.  Round robin of 3 games per weekend against girls of the same age groups.  Each girl is guaranteed 2 weekends of play and could play possibly more than those 2 weekends.  If your daughter loves softball and competes in other travel sports, it is an opportunity to play with the best house league players in LGSA against 3 other townships and have fun, learn more about softball at a high level, and compete against other's at a higher level while not having a full blown travel schedule.  Many of the girls that play LGSA Travel and at LHS are Tournament Team alumni.  There is also other opportunities for the girls to develop advanced pitching and catching skills with some of the instructors that we bring in to help with their development.

LGSA Mission
The Libertyville Girls Softball Association (LGSA) was established in 1986 to provide a top quality
softball program for the girls of Libertyville Township. Through participation in the LGSA program,
its players learn responsibility, hard work, teamwork, and how those things add up to group success.
LGSA players also build self-esteem and the confidence to take on difficult challenges later in life.

Congratulations to the 10U Orange team for taking second place in the B division at the Schaumburg Slugfest on May 18th-20th 2012. The girls played some of the top A teams in the country in the pool round, battling each team all the way before making it to the finals in the elimination round, losing to a tough Heartland Havoc '01 area team from the Quad Cities. Great job girls!
