LFC Tornado White: Our Trainer

Dave "Ted" Edwards

The Tornado White are trained by Coach Dave "Ted" Edwards. Dave gained his BSc. Degree from Staffordshire University in 1998 before coming to the United States to ply his trade as a soccer coach. He is the head coach of the FC Virginia 96 Girls, who compete in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) and is the head coach of the SYA 97 Girls Red who compete in the Virginia Club Champions League (VCCL). He is also the head coach of the Leesburg FC Panthers (boys) who play in the Old Dominion Soccer League (ODSL).

Dave is the former Director of Coaching (Travel) for Loudoun Soccer in Loudoun County, VA where he coached the two premier girls teams in the club: 97G Red and 96G Red. Dave is also the VA State Technical Coordinator for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). He played soccer at the professional level in England and is a former collegiate Men's Soccer and Women's Tennis coach, in the U.S. Dave also has a HND in Sports Science & Sports Injuries and an International Masters Diploma in Sports Therapy.

Dave's wife, Michelle, holds her PhD. in Neuromuscular Kinesiology from the University of Wales in Bangor. Her PhD research projects involved Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) rehabilitation and prevention interventions. Her orthopedic clinical experience includes neuromuscular rehab work with English Premier League Football and Rugby players. She is a Professor of Health Sciences at Marymount University and is current in her research areas, including work with the National Institutes of Health, MD and DC United of Major League Soccer, as well as numerous studies on obesity in children.
