OPENING DAY 2012
Lenape Blazers Softball once again joined Hobb Engler Baseball for an exciting and fun filled opening day. After all of the girls softball teams and boys baseball teams made their way onto the field, Alexa Lavere and Natalie Iazzetti, both from the 14u travel team, started the festivities off with a sparkling rendition of our National Anthem. Madison Wronko threw out the Blazers first pitch and Sydney Burlew was the catcher. The Blazers would like to thank Kim Reistad and Jill Rafferty who put in alot of time and effort collecting donations to be raffled off during opening day. The Blazers were able to raise $726 towards the renovation of the old Neil Gylling bathrooms into a new concession stand.

LENAPE BLAZERS SOFTBALL OFF TO GREAT START IN 2012

The Lenape Blazers 12U Blue team took 2nd place in the Lincoln park Spring fling tournament this past weekend. It was there 2nd straight 2nd place finish in tournament play. The Blazers earned the 6th seed after a 2- 1 record on the first day of play by defeating the Montclair Magic and West Milford Extreme and suffering a close loss to the Randolph Rage. The Blazers avenged their loss to Randolph on day two with a huge two international tie-breaker extra innings win. The Blazers then defeated the host Lincoln Park Angels, before falling to a tough Kinnelon Colts team in the championship game. The Blazers exhibited great defense and timely hitting the entire tournament and are now focusing in on their spring season.

LENAPE BLAZERS SOFTBALL KEEPS ROLLING

After a successful Spring the Lenape Blazers Softball travel program has kept the ball rolling with impressive team play throughout the Summer and Falll seasons. The Blazers claimed the 12u A division and 10U B division championships in the Denville Summer League and followed that up with the 14U B division Jefferson Fall League championship. The 12U Blue team also took home 2nd place trophies at the Fall Harvest Tournament in Allamuchy.

LENAPE BLAZERS HAVE GREAT SUCCESS IN SPRING SEASON

The sping softball season was very successful for the Lenape Blazers softball organization. Four of our five rec teams made it to the play-offs, with both of our senior division teams playing in the championship game. And what a game it was with senior purple squeaking by senior blue by one run to take home the first place trophy. Both of our 12U travel teams performed well at the Kittatinny tournament, ending up as the #1 and #2 seeds after the first days seeding games. The 12U white team went on to defeat West Milford for the 12U division championship. The 10U travel team took home the 2nd place trophy in the School's Out Tournament held in Sparta.

Danielle Fralley threw out the Blazers first pitch in honor of her late Grandfather, Ralph Wurzbach, and Paige Markferding was the catcher. The Blazers would like to thank Kim Reistad who put in alot of time and effort collecting donations to be raffled off during opening day. The Blazers were able to raise $390 towards the renovation of the old Neil Gylling bathrooms to a new concession stand.

12U WHITE WINS FALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Lenape Blazers 12u White travel softball team capped off an amazing season of softball by winning thier fall league championship. After finishing the regular fall season with a .500 record, the girls arose to the challenge in the playoff round winning four games in one day to take home the championship trophy. Behind the pitching of Madison Wronko, the Blazers played flawless defense all day. The Blazers won the first game over Mt. Olive 9 - 2, and followed that up with a 5-2 victory over Butler. In the semi-final round the Blazers defeated a tough NJ Sparks team 3-2. In the championship game, the Blazers shut down Sparta Red,  one of our biggest rivals every year, with an impressive 3 - 0 victory.

BLAZERS 12U COMES UP SHORT IN CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES.
The Lenape Blazers 12U Travel Softball Team finished up their spring and summer seasons with championship berths. Despite strong efforts in both games the girls came up just short of victories, with a 7-2 loss to Jefferson in the spring championship and a 15 - 5 loss to Mt. Olive in the summer championship. This group of girls continue to improve and now look forward to the fall travel season.

KITTATINNY SPRING FLING CHAMPIONS

The Lenape Blazers 10U travel team has brought home the Kittatinny Spring Fling tournament trophy for a second straight year. The tournament was played on the weekend of May 14th - 16th. The 10U Blazers started the weekend with a 13-7 win over Jefferson Blue on Friday night. On Saturday the Blazers kept rolling with a 13-8 victory against the West Milford Extreme Black and an exciting 4-3 victory over the Rockaway Rampage to earn the #1 seed. In Sunday's championship round the 10U Blazers managed come from behind victories against West Milford Extreme Black and West Milford Extreme Gold to take the championship. Kailee Gentilucci was the winning pitcher in both of Sunday's games. All the girls played hard all weekend and should be very proud of thier accomplishment. The 10U Blazers have compiled an amazing 17-2-1 record so far this season.

CONGRATULATIONS BLAZERS INTERMEDIATE PINK

The Lenape Blazers Intermediate Pink girls softball team, pulled off an amazing come from behind victory to win the North West Skylands intermediate level league championship. The girls staged a rally in the bottom of the sixth inning for a 12 - 11 victory over a very tough Green Twp. team. Team Pink finished the season 13-0-1.

BLAZERS ENJOY FIRST OPENING DAY CEREMONY

The Lenape Blazers Softball League would like to thank Hobb Engler Baseball for including us in thier opening day ceremonies.  It was a beautiful April day for the beginning of the softball / baseball season. The girls had a blast, and really seemed to liven the event up with some dancing and cheering to the music of DJ Casey Cluett. The kids had fun dunking league president Dan Burlew, who braved the cold water, to the delight of many onlookers. The Blazers look forward to next years opening day and many more to come.

BLAZERS LOSE LONG TIME MEMBER
Dawn Fralley's dad, Ralph Wurzbach passed away on  Friday April 2nd. Ralph was a long time coach and board member with the towns baseball and softball league. He was also assitant superintendent for the Township of Byram Dept. of public works for 17 years. Viewings will be held at Tuttle Funeral Home, Rt. 10 in Randolph on Tues. 4/6 form 3pm-5pm and 7pm - 9pm. Funeral services will be held Wed. 4/7 11am at Tuttle funeral home. Family members ask that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lenape Blazers Softball League.

LENAPE BLAZERS 10U WIN DENVILLE SUMMER LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP

THE LENAPE BLAZERS 10U GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM PULLED OFF A COME FROM BEHIND VICTORY TO WIN THE DENVILLE SUMMER LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP. THE MONTVILLE MUSTANGS MANAGED TO KEEP THE BLAZERS SCORELESS FOR THE FIRST FIVE INNINGS. THE BLAZERS STAGED A TWO OUT RALLY TO TIE THE SCORE AT 2-2 IN THE TOP OF THE SIXTH INNING. IN THE TOP OF THE SEVENTH THE BLAZERS PUSHED ACROSS TWO RUNS AND THEN HELD OFF THE HARD CHARGING MUSTANGS FOR A 4-3 VICTORY. IT WAS A NICE WAY FOR THE TEAM TO FINISH UP PLAYING AT THE 10U LEVEL. MOST OF THE GIRLS WILL NOW HEAD TO THE 12U LEVEL THIS FALL. CONGRATULATIONS BLAZERS !!!!!

BLAZERS 10U WHITE TAKE 2ND PLACE IN LONG VALLEY TOURNAMENT
THE LENAPE BLAZERS 10 WHITE GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM TOOK HOME 2ND PLACE MEDALS FROM THE 2ND ANNUAL ATALESE MEMORIAL LONG VALLEY TORNAMENT. THE TOURNAMENT WAS PLAYED ON JUNE 7TH IN LONG VALLEY. THE BLAZERS DEFEATED THE DENVILLE BLUE DEVILS 7 -5 IN THE FIRST GAME, THEN DEFEATED THE LONG VALLEY LASERS 4-2 IN THE SECOND GAME AND ENDED THE SEEDING GAMES  WITH A 1-1 TIE WITH BRIDGEWATER TO EARN A SPOT IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. THE BLAZERS LOST TO THE DELAWARE VALLEY LIGHTNING IN A HEART BREAKER 1-0. IT WAS A FANTASTIC EFFORT FROM OUR 10U GIRLS.

BLAZERS 10U WHITE TAKE FIRST PLACE IN KITTATINNY SPRING FLING TOURNAMENT
THE LENAPE BLAZERS TRAVEL 10U WHITE GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM TOOK FIRST PLACE IN THE KITTATINNY SPRING FLING TOURNAMENT PLAYED THE WEEKEND OF MAY 15TH TO 17TH.  THE GIRLS STARTED WITH A WIN AGAINST SPARTA ON FRIDAY NIGHT.  THEN HAD TWO ONE RUN LOSSES TO NEW PALTZ, NY AND MONTCLAIR ON SATURDAY TO EARN THE #5 SEED.  ON SUNDAY THE GIRLS AVENGED THEIR LOSS TO MONTCLAIR WITH A 9 -6 WIN. THEY FOLLOWED THAT UP BY DEFEATING THE #1 SEED ROCKAWAY RAMPAGE.  THE GIRLS THEN DEFEATED THE WEST MILFORD EXTREME WITH A COME FROM BEHIND 7-6 VICTORY TO TAKE THE CHAMPIONSHIP.  BEHIND THE STRONG PITCHING OF DANIELLE FRALLEY, THE BLAZERS PLAYED AWESOME DEFENSE AND HAD TIMELY HITS ALL WEEKEND LONG.  ALL THE GIRLS SHOULD BE EXTREMLY PROUD OF THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENT.
