Welcome to the

Lake Erie Basketball League

Check the website often for the latest updates and news. This will be our main source for communication.

ARRIVAL TIME:  Coaches, please do not arrive to your game any early than 15-20 minutes prior to your scheduled game time.  There is not sufficient space to warm up in most facilities.  IN ADDITION, if you are the first game of the day, you may not enter a facility or gym until 15-20 minutes before game time.  We've had incidents in Rocky River with teams arriving more than 15 minutes early and disrupting paying membership time to that facility.  We've had issues in Middleburg Heights in the past as well.  Please be courteous and respect the facilities and scheduled times.  Also, no bouncing balls in school hallways or facility lobbies.  Balls should only be used in gyms.  Use hallway time to stretch.

SCHEDULE NOTE:  Please make note - the official "master schedule" is the CURRENT one ("Dec-2 version") posted in the handouts section of the web site.  That schedule is entered online and should now match the handout.  But when a discrepency occurs, the handout take precidence.  Please notify Jim Crawford if you see any errors on the web-based schedule and they will be corrected.

*********************************************************

This is the final schedule unless obvious errors need to be corrected.  Changes for convenience (nor tournament conflicts) cannot be done due to the complexity of requirements including referee consectutive game requirements, pre-paid gym rental/ref fees/score keeper fees, etc.  Scheduling changes are very time consuming and are not as easy and up-front as they appear.

**********************************************************

When sending email inquiries, please include division, age group and team name.

******************************

Know the rules!

The Lake Erie Basketball League is a developmental travel basketball league for community-based teams of fourth, fifth and sixth grade students. For the 2009-10 season, there are 123 teams (boys and girls) in the various divisions, representing 27 mainly western and southern suburbs of Cleveland. Each team plays 10 regular season games, and there is a post-season league tournament. The LEBL was founded in 1997 to give younger players an opportunity to play competitive basketball against talented players from other communities in a league setting. The League emphasizes individual and team fundamentals. To encourage the development of ball handling and court skills, zone defenses are not allowed at the fourth and fifth grade levels. Poor sportsmanship by players, coaches, or spectators is not tolerated.
