League City Saints: Welcome

Welcome to the League City Saints Official Site!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our Saints Football/Drill/Cheer/Mascot season has ended.  We had a successful season with two teams advancing to the playoffs: Freshmen and Juniors.

Our Freshmen team ran into the Texas City Stingrays in the first round and came up a bit short.  We are very proud of the Freshmen team and what they have accomplished this year.

Our Junior team faced the Rams in the First round and defeated them in a very tough game.  The second round was controversial against the Texas City Stingrays and the Saints were awarded the victory.  Then the scenario for the playoffs became a first-ever: the entire NFC Junior Playoff bracket would have to be replayed in order to see who would advance to the Super Bowl.  The Saints would now face the Pearland Hurricanes in Round One where they were victorious.  The Saints then followed that up the very next day against the Southbelt Dolphins (who defeated the Ellington Rams the day before) where the Saints came out victorious to head to the Super Bowl.  These Junior Saints had to play an extra two games in two days in order to make it the big game.  Unfortunately at the big game, the Junior Saints came up short.  They were defeated by a Pearland Patriot team that was well rested and ready for the Saints.  It was a very long season for these Juniors and they have done something no other team in BAFL has ever done -- played in 15 games in one season.  The 2014 Junior Saints are the very first League City Saints team to make it to the Super Bowl and that can never be taken away from that froup of players and their coaches.  A remarkable season nonetheless.  We are very proud of that special group!

Overall, the League City Saints 2014 season as a whole was successful organization wide - all 5 football teams plus the mascots, the drill team and the cheer squad.  With the building blocks that are currently in place and the future looking extremely bright for the Black and Gold, we  can only imagine what is to come for these great young athletes.
