Interested in being an umpire????
The ESM Little League is currently seeking Umpires for the 2012 Spring season. If you are at least 14 years old, this is a great opportunity to earn some extra cash. Umpires can earn $30 per game if they work the game alone, or $20 per game if they work with another umpire.
Umpires must have taken and passed the umpire test offered through District 8 baseball.
For veteran umpires, the test is not required to be taken more than once. However, it is suggested that you take the class as a refresher as the rules are modified from year to year by Little League International.
For new umpires, District 8 will be providing umpire training classes and holding a test in early April. The cost for the class and test is $50 and will include umpire equipment to keep. ESM Little League will reimburse this fee for those umpires who pass the test and work for the league during the entire 2012 Spring season.
If you are interested in umpiring this year please contact Jay Carhart at jj_carhart@yahoo.com as soon as possible
