LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
To the Players, Volunteers and Parents of LCLL,
The season is almost over and I have some thank yous to hand out. First of all I would like to say THANK YOU to all the volunteers that have worked in the league this year. Thanks to you we have had a great year. To the concession stand workers, thanks, because of you the league made money that helped offset our expenses and keep the cost of registration down.
Thank you to the coaches for giving the children of our community the opportunity to enjoy one of the greatest sports known. Thanks to the ones who worked on the fields, because of your hard work our children had nice facilities to play on (even during one of the rainiest seasons I can remember).
Thanks to the volunteer umpires, without you the games could not have been played. Last, but not least, I would like to thank the Board of Directors of our local league. These dedicated people have done more than you know and truly deserve a big “Thank You”.
Second I would like to thank the businesses that have donated their resources to help keep Little League baseball affordable for all the kids in Lewis County. It cannot be overlooked how important these community minded individuals are to our program. Their donations make up over half of our budget. Without them we would need to charge on average $65 per child to cover the expenses of playing ball. So please thank the sponsor of your team and spend a little money with our local businesses.
In closing, I would like to thank the players of the Lewis County Little League. These young men and women make all the headaches and heartaches worth the cost. Always keep the real spirit of sportsmanship in your heart and the spirit of kindness in your soul and all your days will be filled with countless rewards.
And remember that one day you will be the old guy or gal that will yell “Play ball” and when you do I hope you think back on your youth with fond memories.
See you at the field.
Bill Tom Stone, President
Lewis County Little League
