*****LCC Shootout Tournament Announced***** The East Meets West Foundation and La Costa Canyon Boys Lacrosse Announce the 1st Annual LCC Shootout Tournament to be held Friday & Saturday April 9th & 10th @ the Del Mar Polo Grounds in Del Mar - San Diego. Go to "Handouts" for more info! *****Fall Ball opportunities***** Not Mandatory. If you are playing a Fall or Winter school sport, put all your attention into that sport. College lacrosse coaches love multiple sport athletes.
*****College Commitments Class of 2010***** Congratulations to LCC players who have committed to play college lacrosse in spring 2011.
*****TEAM G.P.A. # 1 in the STATE!***** As published from CIF and the San Diego Union Tribune. Boys lacrosse: La Costa Canyon, 3.49. The State CIF office has announced that our Varsity Boys' Lacrosse team has been recognized as State Academic Champions!. This means that those student-athletes maintained the state's highest collective team grade-point average (on an unweighted 4.0 scale) during the 2008-09 school year. *****Lacrosse Canyon***** LCC has won the CIF San Diego Championship 3 times, played in the past 7 CIF San Diego championship games, and have won the North County Conference 5 consecutive times. The North County Conference has produced 7 of the 8 CIF Champions to date since 2002 and offers the toughest league in San Diego with the likes of Torrey Pines, Poway, and Rancho Bernardo. Their are 9 teams total in the league, and every team plays each other 1 time. North County Conference: LCC, Torrey Pines, Poway, Rancho Bernardo, Westview, Carlsbad, Mount Carmel, Fallbrook, and San Marcos. CIF has not approved a CA regional or state championship, but most of the better teams in the state play each other year in and year out.

*****Cameron Zook named Captain at Towson***** Towson University has announced that senior defenseman Cameron Zook, an '06 graduate of LCC, has been named a captain for his senior season. Congratulations to Cameron! *****Spencer Peterson named #34 by Inside Lacrosse in their Top 40 Defenseman rankings***** Inside Lacrosse announced their Top 40 Defenseman and recently graduated senior captain LSM Spencer Peterson made the prestigious list. *****Lax Power All Western Team Announced***** Lax Power announced their All Western Team and Spencer Peterson made the prestigious team at defense, and T.C. Whaley was an Honorable Mention for midfielders. Congratulations to these two La Costa Canyon players! *****CA Gold***** CA Gold has released the 108 players invited to the 2009 summer recruiting event. Congrats to the following 12 LCC players picked for the event! July 15 & 16 in San Ramon CA.
*****Rising Sr. LSM Steven Bogert to play in Under Armour Underclassmen All American Games***** Bogert will play for the Midwest team and is one of only 3 CA kids to make the team. The games will be played Saturday June 27th and Sunday June 28th at Towson University. www.underarmourlacrosse.com
*****2009 Senior All Star Game***** Picked by head coach of each team. Number of players from each team dependent on how the team finished. LCC had 5. The game will be played at Bishop's at noon on Saturday June 13th. Players need to arrive at 11:00. Jerseys will be passed out at the game. Congratulations to the following seniors! Represent the program by wearing your LCC shorts, socks, and helmet!

*****CIF Awards***** Voted by head coaches of San Diego CIF teams. LCC features a total of 5 players earning honors, 3 players voted 1st team, and 1 player earning 2nd team.
*****North County Conference Awards***** Voted by 9 head coaches of the NCC. LCC features a total of 9 players earning honors, including the Conference Player of the Year, 5 players voted 1st team, 2 players voted 2nd team, and 2 players honorable mention.
*****CIF Playoffs - LCC CIF Runner Up***** LCC won their first round game vs. Granite Hills 12-0, won their quarterfinal game vs. Torrey Pines 14-4, won their semifinal game vs. Cathedral 15-3, and lost in the championship to Coronado 4-9. *****LEAGUE CHAMPS! LCC Beats Rival Torrey Pines***** In a game that determined the North County Conference Championship, the Mavericks won their final regular season game vs. Torrey Pines during NCC Rivalry Week. The win earned the Mavericks the NCC League Championship for the 6th straight year and a #2 seed in the playoffs with home field advantage through the Semis. JV won 10-3! *****Senior Night***** At halftime of the Varsity game vs. Fallbrook 5/11 LCC honored its seniors in a game that was won 17-2 with a 13-1 halftime score. Many thanks to the senior players and their families for years of fun, success, and achievement on the field and in the classroom! LCC honors 8 seniors: Matty Gillan, T.C.
