Saturday, March 3
LCC 2 – Great Oak 1
The Mavericks kicked off their 2007 season at home with a win over the Great Oak Wolfpack today under sunny skies and strong winds. The game featured solid pitching and defense by both teams; Great Oak scored their lone run in the 5th, with LCC responding in the 6th scoring two runs on RBI doubles by Seniors Grant Allgire and Jack Davidson. LCC’s starting pitcher Senior Chris Brookey received the win going 6 1/3 innings (4K, 1 ER). Senior Sean Soto relieved Brookey in the seventh retiring the next two batters to clinch the victory and his first save of the year. The Mavs defensive play was outstanding with Sophomore Mitch Tybroski making a web-gem diving catch in left field to end the 4th inning.

The Mavericks travel to Mira Mesa this Wednesday as they continue play in the Falcon-Pirate tournament.

The Mavericks won Game 2 of the Falcon Pirate Tournament with solid defense and a strong performance by senior starting pitcher, Sean Soto (6 IP, 4K) allowing one run on three hits. Senior Tim Perreira retired the Marauders in order in the 7th to earn his first Save. Offensively the Mavs collected five hits led by seniors Chris Brookey (2-3, 2 SB, 1RS), Rusty Leedy (1-3, 2 SB, 1 RBI, 1RS), Brian Martutarus (1-4, 2B, 1 RBI) and sophomore Zach Gage (1-4, 2B, 1RS).

The Mavericks continue tournament play Friday against Pt. Loma at 3:15.


Saturday, March 10
Mavs Lose to Pt Loma
On Friday the Mavericks lost to Point Loma 13-10 in the third game of the Falcon/Pirate Tournament. The Mavs started out strong scoring 9 runs in the first two innings. Jack Davidson (2-3, HR, 4 RBI) hit a 3-run homerun in the 2nd inning. Chris Brookey went 3-4 and Junior Brandyn Delgado collected his first varsity hit.

The Mavericks won 6-0 against Scripps Ranch today in Game Four of the Falcon/Pirate Tournament. Chris Brookey pitched 7 shut out innings, allowing 0 hits and 4K. The Mavs jumped out to an early 5 run lead in the first inning and added 1 run in the 3rd. Players with multiple hits include Aaron Markham (3-4, 2 RBI), Grant Allgire (3-4, 2B, 1 RBI), Rusty Leedy (2-3, 2 RBI) and Brookey (2-4, 1 RBI). Senior Brian Martutartus led the defense with five defensive assists.

The next tournament game is at home on Wednesday against San Pasqual at 3:15.


Wednesday, March 14
LCC Shuts Out San Pasqual
The Mavericks pitching, fielding and hitting all came together today against San Pasqual for an 12-0 win in the Falcon Pirate Tournament. Starter Sean Soto held the Golden Eagles scoreless over 5 innings (4 K, 4H). Cody Smith relieved Soto in the 6th retiring three straight batters (1K) and in the 7th Tyler Korn (1K) threw in relief keeping the shutout intact. The Mavericks scored in each inning except the 1st inning. Rusty Leedy led the offense going 3-3 with 3 RBI. Will Briles collected his first varsity hit.


Thursday, March 15
Mavericks To Play In Championship
With a 4-1 record the Mavericks have earned a chance to play for the Falcon/Pirate Championship. The game will be held at Oceanside High School at 11:00. Murrieta Valley will be the Mavericks opponent after going 5-0 in their bracket. Come support your Mavericks!!

Murrieta Valley Outlasts Mavericks in Extra Innings
In a game that took 3 ½ hours and 10 innings, the Mavericks lost 11-10 to Murrieta Valley in the Falcon Pirate Baseball Classic Championship. Starter Jack Davidson pitched 4 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 8 hits (3Ks). The Mavs used four relief pitchers in 6 innings allowing 5 earned runs on 6 hits. With the Mavs trailing 3-0 in the 3rd, Grant Allgire (3-5, 2B, 3RBI) doubled, tying the game by driving in 3 runs. Murietta Valley answered by scoring 2 runs in the 4th and 4 runs in the 5th. The Mavs battled back in the 6th scoring 5 runs on Chris Brookey’s (1-5, 3B, 3RBI) triple driving in Zach Gage, Allgire and Davidson (1-5), followed by Aaron Markham’s (2-4, 1 RBI) single and Rusty Leedy’s (1-3, 2B, 2RBI) double. The Nighthawks added one run in the 6th. The Mavs tied the game in the 7th by taking advantage of 2 walks and a hit batter to add a run, followed by Chris Fasulo’s RBI infield single. Murrieta Valley scored in the bottom of the 10th for the win.

The Mavericks play San Marcos at home on Tuesday in the first game of the North County Tournament.


Tuesday, March 20
LCC Wins First Game of North County Tournament
The Mavericks pitching, fielding and hitting came together today to shut out San Marcos in the first game of the North County Tournament. Twelve Maverick batters collected 24 hits and 19 runs. The Maverick pitching staff held the Knights to one hit. The Mavericks continue tournament play at home on Thursday against Escondido at 3:00.


Thursday, March 22
LCC Wins Second Game of North County Tournament
The Mavs won 10-2 over Escondido today. Sean Soto started on the mound and held the Cougars to 1 run over 5 innings (2H, 8K). Cody Smith retired three straight batters in the 6th and T Perreira (1H, 2K) threw in relief in the 7th, the Cougars scored one unearned run. The Mavs scored 3 runs in the first inning on back-to-back hits by Chris Brookey (2 for 4, 2B, RBI 4) and Aaron Markham (2 for 3, RBI). Grant Allgire (2 for 4, HR, RBI 2) added 2 runs in the 2nd when he hit a homerun that landed on the track with Brian Martutartus (1 for 2) on base. Mike Oman (1 for 3, RBI) singled in a run the 3rd inning. Rusty Leedy (1 for 2, RBI 2) singled in 2 runs in the 4th and Brookey singled in 2 runs in the 5th.

The Mavs continue tournament play at Valley Center on Saturday.

Mavericks Lose Game Three of North County Tournament
In Game Three of the North County Tournament, Valley Center defeated the Mavs 17-8. Offensively the Mavs were led by Zach Gage (3 for 4, 2B, RBI), Jack Davidson (2 for 4, 2B, RBI 2) and Grant Allgire (2 for 4, 2B, RBI). The Jaguars capitalized on 12 hits and defensive errors to secure the win. The Mavs continue tournament play at Vista on Tuesday.


Wednesday, March 28
LCC Drops to Vista in Nine Innings
In a hard fought North County tournament game on Tuesday, LCC lost to Vista 4-3 in the bottom of the 9th inning. Chris Brookey pitched 7 innings allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, (7K, 2BB). Tim Perreira pitched a scoreless 8th and Sean Soto allowed 1 run on 2 hits in the bottom of the 9th. The Mavs and Panthers each scored one run in the first inning and remained tied until the Panthers took a 3-1 lead in the 5th. The Mavs rallied back in the top of the 7th on Jack Davidson’s RBI single that got by Vista’s outfielder allowing Allgire (1 for 3) to score. Aaron Markham drove in Davidson to tie the game. The Panthers scored in the bottom of the 9th for the win.



Friday, March 30
Mavs Win Game 5 of North County Tournament
LCC won 10-5 over El Camino in their final game of the North County Tournament. Jarad Henry (3K, 1H) allowed 4 runs on 1 hit in 4 1/3 innings of work. Sean Soto (3K, 1H) pitched in relief for 1 2/3 innings for the win and Cody Smith (2K, 1 H) pitched in the 7th inning allowing 1 run. The Mavs and Wildcats each scored one unearned run in the 1st. The Mavs took a 2 -1 lead in the 2nd on Mitch Tybroski’s sac fly scoring Rusty Leedy (3 for 4). Grant Allgire (1 for 2, HR, RBI) led off the 3rd inning with a solo home run and the Mavs added another run on Brandyn Delgado’s RBI sac fly. The Wildcats tied the game 4 -4 in the 5th. A six-run 6th inning secured the win; Mike Oman (1 for 2) scored on a wild pitch. Chris Brookey (2 for 4, 2 RBI) singled in Brian Martutartus and Zach Gage (1 for 4) followed by Aaron Markham’s (1 for 4, 2 RBI) 2 RBI triple and error allowing him to score.

The Mavericks play Green Valley (LV) in the first game of the Lions Tournament at home on Monday.

LCC Opens Lions Tournament with a Victory

The Mavericks opened the 2007 Lions Tournament with an 8-2 victory over the Green Valley (NV) Gators at home. Starting pitcher Chris Brookey allowed one earned run on 6 hits (3K, 0BB) in 6 innings of work. Tim Perreira (1K) retired the side in order in the 7th to close the game. Offensively the Mavs scored 8 runs on 14 hits. Brian Martutartus led off the bottom of the 1st with a double and scored on Jack Davidson’s RBI single. The Mavs added 3 runs in the 2nd on consecutive hits by Mitch Tybroski , Martutartus, and a 2 RBI double by Zach Gage. Davidson led off the 3rd with a triple and scored when Brookey doubled, followed by Aaron Markham’s single who then scored on Mike Oman’s single. The Mavs added an unearned run in the 6th.   

The Mavericks continue tournament play on Tuesday against Valencia at Grossmont High School.


Tuesday, April 3
MAVS Defeat Valencia 9-1 in Lions Tournament Game 2
Solid pitching, defense and offense came together today as La Costa Canyon defeated Valencia 9-1 in the second game of the 2007 Lions Tournament at Grossmont HS. Starting pitcher Sean Soto limited the Vikings to one run on 4 hits (7K, 3BB) in 6 innings of work. Tyler Korn (1H, 1K, 1BB) pitched a scoreless 7th inning. The Mavs scored 9 runs on 15 hits. Jack Davidson (3 for 4, 3 RBI), Zach Gage (3 for 4, RBI), Aaron Markham (2 for 3, 2B, RBI) and Grant Allgire (2 for 4, RBI) led the offense. Chris Brookey (2 for 4, HR, 2 RBI) hit a 2 run home run over the left field fence in the 6th inning.

The Mavericks play Edison Huntington Beach in the third game of the Lions Tournament at home on Wednesday.


Wednesday, April 4
MAVS Rally to Win Game 3 of Lions Tournament

The Mavericks? offense produced a 4-run rally in the 5th inning today for a 7-6 victory over the Edison Huntington Beach Chargers in Game Three of the Lions Tournament. Starting pitcher Jarad Henry threw a complete game, giving up 6 runs on 7 hits (11 K, 4 BB) for his first varsity win. Offensively, the Mavs collected 7 runs on just 5 hits. Grant Allgire (2 for 2, HR, 3 RBI) led the offense with a 2-run home run in the 3rd. With the tying run on 2nd base in the top of the 7th, the Mavs? defense made a game-saving play when the next batter singled to the right field gap. As the base runner rounded 3rd, Rusty Leedy threw the ball to the cut-off Zach Gage who relayed the ball to Danny Bethea who tagged the runner out at home. Henry retired the next two batters for the win.

The Mavericks play in the Classic Division Semi-Finals at 9:30 am on Thursday at Point Loma Nazarene University. The winner of that game advances to the Championship game at 3:30pm.


Friday, April 6
Mavs Lose to Montgomery in Lions Tournament Semifinals
The Mavs lost 5-2 to Montgomery in the semifinals of the 57th Annual Lions Tournament at Point Loma Nazarene University on Thursday. Starter Jack Davidson (5K, 2BB) allowed 5 runs on 7 hits in 5 innings of work. Tyler Korn (1K, 0BB) relieved Davidson in the 6th and allowed 0 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Offensively, the Mavs were limited to 2 runs on 6 hits. The Mavs were the first to score on an RBI double by Jack Davidson (1 for 3, 2B, RBI) scoring Grant Allgire in the bottom of the 3rd inning. The Mavs held the 1-0 lead until the top of the 5th when the Aztecs collected all 5 runs. The Mavs added one run in the 6th when Rusty Leedy (1 for 3, 2B, RBI) drove in Chris Brookey (1 for 3). Zach Gage, Garrett Smith and Mike Oman also collected hits for the Mavs.

The Mavs begin league play on Tuesday at Torrey Pines at 3:15.


Thursday, April 12
LCC Loses League Opener
The Mavericks lost 10 - 0 in the Palomar League Opener at Torrey Pines on Tuesday. Offensively the Mavs were limited to five hits with Chris Fasulo (2 for 4) and Aaron Markham (2 for 3) leading the offense. The Falcons capitalized on nine hits and defensive errors for the win. Starter Chris Brookey allowed 4 earned runs on 6 hits (2K, 2BB) in 3 1/3 innings. Reliever Tim Perreira allowed 2 earned runs on 2 hits in 1 2/3 innings, and Cody Smith relieving in the 6th gave up 1 earned run on 1 hit.

The Mavs play Torrey Pines at home on Thursday.


Thursday, April 12
Falcons Edge Mavs 3-2
Solid pitching and defense were not enough for the Mavs as they lost 3-2 to Torrey Pines on Thursday. Sean Soto (7K, 2BB) allowed 3 runs on 7 hits in   6 innings. Tyler Korn (1K) pitched a scoreless 7th inning. Jack Davidson (1-3, 2B) doubled to lead off the 2nd inning; Chris Brookey was then hit by a pitch and scored on an error. The Mavs scored their second run in the 3rd, Brian Martutartus was hit by a pitch and scored on Grant Allgire’s (1 -2, 2B) RBI double. The Mavs battled back in the 7th on Brandyn Delgado’s (1-1) single, but could not get the tying run across the plate.

Sunday, April 15
Mavericks Fall to Torrey Pines
The Mavericks lost 12-2 in the third league game against Torrey Pines on Saturday. Offensively, the Mavs posted their 2 runs in the 1st inning on consecutive hits by Zach Gage (1-1), Grant Allgire (2-3, 2B, RBI) and Chris Brookey (2-3, RBI). The Falcons scored 12 runs on 7 hits and defensive errors for the win. Starter Jack Davidson allowed 3 earned runs on 3 hits in 3 1/3 innings. Tyler Korn (3 ER, 2H) and Jarad Henry (2 ER, 2H) pitched in relief. Tim Perreira threw a scoreless 6th inning.

The Mavs play at Westview on Tuesday.


Wednesday, April 18
Mavs Win Over Westview
The Mavs won 10-7 at Westview on Tuesday. Chris Brookey (6K, 4BB) started on the mound allowing 5 earned runs on 9 hits in 5 innings. Tim Perreira (1K, 2BB) and Tyler Korn (3K, 2BB) pitched in relief in the 6th and Korn closed in the 7th to secure the win. The Mavs scored 1 run in the 1st on doubles by Brian Martutartus (1-5, 2B) and Grant Allgire (2-4, 2B, 2 RBI). The Wolverines tied the game in the 2nd. The Mavs regained the lead in the 4th adding 3 runs on a 2RBI double by Jack Davidson (2-5, 2B, 2RBI) scoring Mitch Tybroski (1-2, RBI) and Allgire; followed by an RBI single by Aaron Markham (4-4, RBI). The Mavs added 1 run in the 5th on an error allowing Martutartus to score. In the 5th the Mavs scored 5 runs on hits by Davidson, Brookey (2-4), Markham, Rusty Leedy (2-4, RBI) and Tybroski and a bases loaded walk to Zach Gage. The Wolverines battled back in the 5th adding 3 runs and 1 run in the 6th for a final score of 10-7.

News Flash - Head Coach Justin Machado gets tossed for the very first time in his career and will have to sit out the next game.

The Mavs host a doubleheader with Westview on Saturday.

On April 23rd Head Coach Justin Machado and Pitching Coach Tim Kechter, with an entourage of Paul Oseguera's friends and family traveled to Rancho Cuamonga for the game with the San Jose Giants of the California Advanced Single A League. Paul put in another quality start, pitching 5 scoreless innings on only 3 hits while striking out 5 and walking only 1. Paul left after 5 innings with a 4-0 lead but Rancho Cucamonga rallied in the late innings against the San Jose bull pen to pull out the 7-4 win.

LCC defeated Westview 3-2 in the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday. Starter Sean Soto (8K, 3BB) pitched a complete game with 2 unearned runs on 3 hits. The Wolverines jumped out to an early 2 run lead in the 1st inning. The Mavs answered in the bottom of the 1st inning on Grant Allgire’s (1-3, RBI) RBI single scoring Brian Martutartus (1-3). Mike Oman (1-3, 2B, RBI) doubled in Rusty Leedy in the 2nd inning to tie the game. The Mavs scored the go-ahead run in the 5th inning on Leedy’s bases-loaded sacrifice bunt.

Sunday, April 22
Mavs Sweep Westview
With solid pitching and errorless defense, the Mavs shutout Westview 1-0 in the second game on Saturday. In a pitcher’s duel between Jack Davidson (5K, 2BB) and Westview’s David West, Davidson earned his fist varsity win allowing 0 runs on 2 hits in 5 innings. Tyler Korn (4K, 0BB) earned the save by relieving Davidson allowing 0 runs and 1 hit. The Mavs collected just four hits and scored one run in the 5th on Mitch Tybroski’s (1-2, RBI) RBI single scoring Rusty Leedy (1-3).

The Mavs travel to Mt. Carmel on Tuesday.

Mavs Fall to Mt Carmel in 10 Innings
Solid defense and pitching weren’t enough for the Mavericks as they lose 3-2 to Mt. Carmel in 10 innings. Chris Brookey (3K, 1BB) pitched 7 innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits. Tim Perreira threw 2 innings allowing 0 runs on 2 hits. Cody Smith, Jarad Henry and Jack Davidson relieved in the 10th. Mike Oman led the defense with a game-saving tag at the plate in the 7th on a great throw by Mitch Tybroski. Davidson also contributed defensively with a great catch.

Offensively the Mavs collected 2 runs on 10 hits. The Sun Devils scored 1 run the 3rd and the Mavs tied the game in the 6th when Davidson (3-5, 2B) doubled and then scored on Aaron Markham’s ((3-4, RBI) single. The Mavs took a 1 run lead in the 10th when Chris Fasulo (pinch runner) scored on a passed ball. The Sun Devils responded with 2 runs in the bottom of the 10th for the win.

The Mavs play Mt. Carmel on Thursday at home.

The Mavericks lost 8-5 to Mt. Carmel on Thursday. Sean Soto (9K, 4BB) started on the mound allowing 5 earned runs on 8 hits in 5 2/3 innings. Tim Perreira pitched in relief allowing 0 runs on 1 hit in 1 1/3 innings of work. The Mavs collected 5 runs on 8 hits with Brian Martutartus (2-2, 2B, RBI) and Chris Brookey (2-3, 2B, RBI)leading the offense. The Sun Devils jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and the Mavs battled back in the 1st scoring 1 run on Grant Allgire’s (1-4, 2B, RBI) RBI double. The Mavs added 2 runs in the 3rd on back-to-back doubles by Jack Davidson (1-3, 2B, RBI) and Brookey; and 2 runs in the 4th on Martutartus’ RBI sac fly and RBI single by Zach Gage (1-3, RBI). The Sun Devils tied the game in the 5th and rallied for 3 runs in the 6th for the win.

Sun Devils Defeat Mavs
The Mavericks lost 4-3 to Mt. Carmel on Tuesday. Starter Jack Davidson (3K, 2BB) had a solid performance on the mound allowing one earned run on five hits in five innings. Chris Brookey (2K, 0BB) pitched in relief allowing one run on two hits in one inning of work. Grant Allgire (2-4, HR, 2B, 3RBI) led the Mavs offense. The Mavs scored three runs on Allgire’s 5th inning deep shot over the left field fence. The Sun Devils capitalized on defensive errors and seven hits to score four runs for the win.

The Mavs play Rancho Bernardo on Thursday.


Friday, May 4
Mavs Win 4-3 Over Rancho Bernardo in Extra Innings
Solid defense and pitching by both LCC and RB led to a 3 1/2 hour, 12 inning game with the Mavs defeating the Broncos 4-3. Sean Soto (6K, 1BB) started on the mound allowing 3 runs on 6 hits in 7 innings. Tim Perreira (2BB) pitched a scoreless 8th allowing 1 hit. Chris Brookey (2K, 1BB) shut out the Broncos the next 4 innings allowing 3 hits. The Mavs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with Brian Martutartus (3-5, 2B) scoring the first run and Zach Gage (1-5) scoring on Aaron Markham's (2-5, 2RBI) single. The Broncos tied the game in the 4th and took a one run lead in the 5th. The Mavs tied the game in the 7th on Grant Allgire's RBI single scoring Chris Fasulo. The game remained tied until the bottom of the 12th when the Mavs scored the winning run on a bases loaded walk.

The Mavs travel to Poway on Tuesday.

Mavs Win 6-2 Over Titans
The Mavericks' pitching, fielding and timely hitting all came together Tuesday against Poway for a 6-2 win. Chris Brookey (1K, 3BB) threw a complete game allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. The Mavs' defense was errorless and turned 3 inning-ending double plays. Rusty Leedy (2-2, 2B, HR, 3 RBI) led the offense. The Mavs scored 5 runs in the 1st on Aaron Markham's (2-3, 2B, RBI) RBI double followed by Leedy's 3-run homer. The Titans scored 2 runs in the 4th and the Mavs added one run in the 6th on Danny Bethea's (1-2, RBI) single scoring Leedy for a final score of 6-2.

The Mavs play Poway at home on Thursday.

Mavs Drop Game 2 in Poway Series
The Mavs lost 5-1 to Poway on Thursday. Starter Sean Soto (5K, 2BB) allowed 4 earned runs on 8 hits in 5 innings. Tim Perreira pitched in relief allowing no hits in the 6th and Parker Johnson retired the side in the 7th. The Mavs collected 1 run on 7 hits with Mitch Tybroski (3-3) and Aaron Markham (2-3) leading the offense. Rusty Leedy (1-2) scored the lone run in the 6thinning.

The Mavs play at Poway on Saturday.


Sunday, May 13
LCC Lets Series Slip Away to Poway
The Mavs lost 7-5 in the bottom of the 7th to Poway on Saturday. Jack Davidson (3K, 1BB) started on the mound allowing 3 earned runs on 5 hits in 3 1/3 innings. Tim Perreira (2K, 1BB) pitched 1 2/3 innings allowing 2 hits and 0 earned runs. Garrett Hughes retired the side in the 6th and Parker Johnson (1BB) allowed 2 runs in the 7th. The Mavs collected 5 runs on 10 hits with Chris Brookey (3-4, HR, RBI) and Grant Allgire (1-4, HR, 2RBI) leading the offense. The Mavs scored 2 runs in the 2nd on back-to-back hits by Davidson (1-3) and Brookey and back-to-back RBI singles by Garrett Smith (1-3, RBI) and Danny Bethea (1-3, RBI). The Titans responded with 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd. Brookey hit a solo homerun in the 3rd to take a 3-2 lead. The Titans battled back in the 4th taking a 2 run lead. Allgire tied the game in the top of the 7th with a 2-run home run with Leedy (2-4) on base. The Titans hit a 2 run walk-off homer in the bottom of the 7th for a final score of 7-5.

The Mavs travel to Rancho Bernardo on Tuesday.

The Mavs won 8-4 over Rancho Bernardo on Tuesday. Starter Sean Soto (4K, 5BB) threw 6 innings allowing only 2 runs on 5 hits. Tim Perreira (1K, 1BB) pitched in the 7th allowing 2 runs on 2 hits. The Mavs collected 9 hits with Brian Martutartus (2-3, HR, 3B, 4RBI) and Mitch Tybroski (2-4, 2B, RBI) leading the offense. Martutartus led off the 1st inning with a solo home run followed by Jack Davidson's (1-4, RBI) RBI single to jump out to an early 2-0 lead. The Mavs added one run in the 2nd on Martutartus' sacrifice fly scoring Zach Gage (2-3). The Mavs added 4 runs in the 6th on an RBI double by Tybroski, 2RBI triple by Martutartus, and sac fly by Rusty Leedy (1-2, RBI). They added one run in the 7th when Brookey (1-4) scored on a wild pitch. The Broncos battled in the 7th scoring 2 runs for a final score of 8-4.

The final regular season game is at home on Thursday, against Rancho Bernardo.


Friday, May 18
Mavs Drop Game 3 in Series to Broncos
With a pre-game ceremony to honor Maverick graduating seniors and their parents, the regular season ended with a 4-2 loss to Rancho Bernardo. Chris Brookey (3K, 4BB) started on the mound allowing 3 runs on 6 hits in 6 innings. Jack Davidson (1K) pitched in the 7th inning allowing 1 run on 2 hits. Brian Martutartus (2-3, 2B) led the Mavs offense. The Mavs scored one run in the 1st on Grant Allgire's (1-2, RBI) RBI single scoring Martutartus. Jack Davidson (1-3, 2B) doubled and scored one run in the 6th inning for a final score of 4-2.

The Mavericks will now await the CIF Division 1 Playoff Bracket.

The Mavericks finished the regular season with a 16-14 overall record earning a 12th seed in the CIF Division I Playoffs.

Mavericks Finish Season at Mira Mesa
LCC lost to Mira Mesa 7-2 in the play-in round of Division I CIF Playoffs to conclude the season. Sean Soto (1K, 1BB) started on the mound allowing 3 earned runs on 7 hits in 3 2/3 innings. Tim Perreira (1K) worked 1/3 inning with no hits and no runs. Chris Brookey (1K, 1BB) pitched in relief allowing 0 runs on 0 hits in 2 innings. Offensively the Mavs collected 6 hits led by Brookey (2-3, 2B, RBI), Aaron Markham (1-3, RBI), Rusty Leedy (1-3), Jack Davidson (1-3) and Danny Bethea (1-3). The Mavs scored one run in the 4th on back-to-back singles by Davidson and Brookey. In the 7th, the Mavs rallied but fell short scoring one run on Brookey’s lead-off double and Markham’s RBI single . The Marauders capitalized on 7 hits and defensive errors for the win.

The Mavericks finish the 2007 season with an overall record of 16-15.
