Mid America Youth Basketball (MAYB)
MAYB has been organizing and promoting youth basketball tournaments since 1993.What started as one summer tournament with 69 teams has grown into more than 170 summer tournaments involving 3700 teams from at least 27 states and 2 foreign countries. We added a winter season in 2000-01 to accommodate the demand for year round opportunities. In 2004, we started offering a spring schedule to accommodate increased demand. We have tournaments in 22 different states, and we continue to expand into new areas. MAYB is now one of the largest organizations of its type in the United States.

BCI is a non-profit organization in which all interested youth throughout the nation may utilize basketball as a sport to improve their athletic excellence, provide educational opportunity, leadership skill, build self-confidence, experience teamwork and have fun.

HISTORY
BCI was conceived in 1970 to provide a realistic development program for young basketball players - both boys and girls- providing the opportunity to showcase their athletic skill before representatives of the nation's universities and junior colleges, leading to scholarships to further their education.

OBJECTIVES
Basketball Congress International is dedicated to helping young people become better citizens through the medium of basketball. The energies and interests of youth are channeled into healthy pursuits that teach sportsmanship and teamwork and build personal confidence. These objectives are achieved through two avenues: National, State and Local BCI Tournaments and organized league play.

HALLMARK
The Distinguishing hallmark of Basketball Congress International is that "Every Player Plays". No other national youth sports organization of our kind specifically requires in its rules that every youth participating get the opportunity to play for a specified period of time. Eddie Oliver is a South Carolina native, born and raised in the historic port city of Georgetown. His thirty-two year Athletic Director career included twenty seven years in the City and County of Georgetown and five years in North Myrtle Beach. He is now retired and doing his basketball hobby full time. In Georgetown, teams in his program won more than thirty State Championships in all sports except Soccer. Twenty six of those teams moved on to World Series play. In addition to state titles, his teams won more than one hundred District Championships.
