LBA BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The terms of office for Officers and Directors/Coordinator shall be two (2) years, beginning the day following the annual meeting. All Officers and Directors/Coordinators shall be eligible for re-election.

President
Kurt Schaefer (2016 - present)
The President, as Chief Executive Officer of the League, shall be charged with the responsibility of presiding at all meetings of the League membership and at all meetings of the Board of Directors; shall have the authority to engage in or enter into contractual capacity on behalf of the League; shall serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the League; shall be an ex-officio member of all Standing and Special Committees; shall supervise the League’s affairs and activities; shall chair the Manager Selection Committee; shall make an annual report thereon to the members; shall transmit all records to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office; and shall perform such other duties as are normally associated with the office of President.

Vice President
Todd Glendye (2012 - present)
The First Vice President shall be charged with the responsibility of assisting the President in the performance of the President’s duties; shall preside at meetings in the absence of the President; shall have the authority to engage in or enter into contractual capacity on behalf of the League in the absence of the President; shall chair the Finance Committee; shall chair the League Operations Committee; shall directly oversee the operations of the Bronco, Pony, Colt and Palomino Divisions; shall act as purchasing agent in the solicitation of bids for articles as determined by the Board; shall transmit all records to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office; and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President.

Secretary
Peter Moore (2012 - present)
The Secretary shall be charged with the responsibility of custody of the Constitution and By-Laws, and all other official records and/or documents of the League; shall keep an accurate and permanent record of the meetings and other activities of the League and of the Board of Directors; shall give notice of all regular and special meetings of the Board of Directors; shall give notice of the annual and special meetings of the League membership; shall be responsible for correspondence on behalf of the League; shall be responsible for news media relations and the publication of League activities, special events and membership activities as deemed necessary by the Board of Directors; shall transmit all records to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office; and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President.

Treasurer
Bill Gray
The Treasurer shall be charged with the responsibility of all finances of the League; shall keep an accurate account of all funds received and disbursed for the League; shall submit a financial report at all regular meetings and at such other times as may be requested by the President; shall compile an annual report of League finances; shall provide the books of the League and such other documentation as requested to the Finance Committee for the annual financial examination; shall administer the League’s insurance needs; shall coordinate insurance claims; shall transmit all financial records to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office; and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President.

Player Agent / Online Operations Coordinator
Peter Moore (2012 - present)
The Player Agent(s) shall be charged with the responsibility of supervising the annual registration of player candidates, tryout sessions and distribution of players among League teams; shall maintain any listing of eligible players not assigned to teams who may be available as replacement players; shall transmit all records and correspondence to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office; and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President.

The Online Operations Coordinator(s) shall be charged with the responsibility of the set up and operation of the Litchfield Baseball Association websites, Message Boards, and Registration System. The League maintains a public website (currently on E-Teamz), which requires seasonal maintenance and updates. The League Board communicates via private Yahoo Message Board on which all Board electronic correspondence is kept. The League's registration database is handled by League Sports Services, Inc. Upon the end of service, the Coordinator shall transfer control and transmit all records and correspondence to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office; and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President.

Equipment Coordinator

The Equipment Coordinator(s) shall be charged with the responsibility of requisitioning uniforms and playing equipment for the League; the distribution of equipment among the League teams; the collection, inventory and storage of equipment during the off-season; preparation of such reports and suggestions as needed by the Finance Committee for budgetary action; shall transmit all records and correspondence to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office; and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President.

Field & Facilities Coordinator
Richard Rochford (2010-present)
The Field and Facilities Coordinator(s) shall be charged with the responsibility of planning for the general preparation, maintenance, development and improvement of all playing facilities owned, leased or used by the League; shall make recommendations to the Finance Committee for suggested or needed expenditures in this area of operation; shall transmit all records and correspondence to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office; and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President.

Training & Coaches Development Coordinator

The Training and Coaches Development Coordinator(s) shall be charged with the responsibility of implementing coaches’ clinics which stress the fundamentals and development of the players; shall facilitate skills and drills clinics; shall make recommendations to the Finance Committee for suggested or needed expenditures which will relate to the purchase of training equipment and aids for utilization by the membership; shall transmit all records and correspondence to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office; and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President.

The League Coordinator(s) shall be charged with the responsibility of planning and operating the League’s season; shall present for selection to the Manager Selection Committee a list of candidates for Managers, as well as actively participate in the recruiting process; shall coordinate with the League Operations Committee and all Managers in the establishment of “Local League” Division rules to supplement the BABE RUTH BASEBALL, INC. rules and to submit these rules to the Board of Directors for approval, as well as oversee the adherence of all local and BABE RUTH BASEBALL, INC. rules by players, Managers and all others; shall review the Umpire Association bids and make a recommendation in conjunction with the Umpire Coordinator(s) to the Board of Directors regarding the employment and/or need of umpire services to the League; shall obtain from the Player Agent(s) a list of registered, eligible players and hold tryouts for the Division, and hold the drafting of the team players under the supervision of the Player Agent(s); shall handle the distribution and collection of the League equipment to the Managers, and coordinate the ordering of the League uniforms and their distribution in conjunction with the Equipment Coordinator(s); shall coordinate with the Facilities Coordinator(s) the preparation and maintenance of the League’s fields, and oversee and coordinate the efforts to keep the fields in excellent playing shape which may involve preparing a list of needs for budget considerations; shall prepare a schedule for the effective and fair use of the fields by all teams in the League for practice and games, which will include rescheduling of rained out games; shall coordinate with the Concessions Coordinator(s) and the Team Parent/Volunteer Development Coordinator(s) a concession policy and schedule for the League; shall prepare a ballot and oversee the voting process for the selection of one (1) or more All Star tournament teams, and serve as Tournament Coordinator(s) for tournaments held in Litchfield; shall transmit all records and correspondence to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office, and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President.


Umpire Coordinator
Chuck Neild (2012 - present)
The Umpire Coordinator(s) shall be charged with the responsibility of presenting to the Board, in conjunction with the League Coordinator(s), a plan for developing qualified umpires appropriate for each Division and/or soliciting qualified bidding contracts from recognized professional umpire associations for the League; shall oversee the umpires’ attendance, performance and compensation; shall consider all complaints relative to umpires and make appropriate recommendations to the Board of Directors; shall chair the Decisions Committee; shall schedule regular season games; shall transmit all records and correspondence to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office; and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President.

Concessions Coordinator

The Concessions Coordinator(s) shall be charged with the responsibility of the set up and operation of the concession stands at League functions and maintenance of the concession facilities throughout the season, including tournaments; shall transmit all records and correspondence to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office; and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President.

Fundraiser Coordinator

The Fundraiser Coordinator(s) shall be charged with the responsibility of coordinating fundraising activities; shall transmit all records and correspondence to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office; and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President.

Team Parent/Volunteer Development Coordinator

The Team Parent/Volunteer Development Coordinator(s) shall be charged with the responsibility of establishing and coordinating parental involvement and participation in the various League functions and activities; shall transmit all records and correspondence to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office; and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President.
