Lazers Soccer Club:Wall of Fame

This page is to honor former teammates who made a difference to the Lazers Soccer Club both on and off the field.

Shane Ewald #47 (Manager/Forward 1985-1997)
Number Retired 1997
Inducted 2004

An original member and the "Godfather" of Lazers Soccer, Shane Ewald not only possessed the ability to run like a deer, but also had an amazing left footed shot that seemed to surprise everyone.  Shane is the only Lazer to have his number officially retired (Apologies to Rich Lewis).  Responsible for the Lazers logo in every incarnation, he still supports the team through pro bono graphics design work.  Shane ran the team until 1997 winning several championships, until moving to Dallas in where started his own graphics design business, Studio 47

Mike Meyers #8 (Forward/Goalie 1985-1994)
Inducted 2005

Mike was an original member of the team, and responsible for naming the club as he was team manager in before resigning the position in 1987.  Mike won several championships playing the positions of goalie and forward, and was named to several Sportsplex All-Star games.

Bob Lozo #44 (Defender/Goalie 1985-2009)
Number Retired 2009
Inducted 2009

The last member of the original Lazers squad, Bob holds the record for most games played at well over 1,000 during his 24 year career with the team.  Playing both defender and goal Bob has been on every championship team between 1985 and 2009.  Off the feild one will not meet a more genuine, kind, and dependable individual.  Bob is the second Lazer to have his jersey retired, and the first member of the team to be inducted to the Wall of Fame before finishing his playing days in July of 2009.

"Perhaps the single most important element in mastering the techniques and tactics of racing is experience. But once you have the fundamentals, acquiring the experience is a matter of time." - Greg LeMond
