VOTE FOR JEFF GELALICH, GOLDEN SPIKES!!!

La Verne Little League and Bonita High School alumnus Jeff Gelalich, junior outfielder at UCLA, has been named a semifinalist for the 2012 NCAA Golden Spikes Award as the top College Baseball player of the year.

Jeff leads the Pac-12 Conference in batting average (.376) and paces the Bruins in home runs (9) and stolen bases (15).

Online voting is underway and concludes on Friday, June 1. Let's help Jeff win this prestigious award won previously by such MLB stars as Jered Weaver (2004), Tim Lincecum (2006), Buster Posey (2008) and Bryce Harper (2010). It would mark the first time an LVLL alumnus has received the award.

Follow the link above and click on "2012 Award" in the menu on the left. Then find Jeff's photo and click on it. Vote as many times as you like.

Way to go, Jeff. LVLL is proud of you!

Little League placed a moratorium on all composite-barreled baseball bats for these divisions, which took effect on Dec. 30, 2010. If and when any 2 1/4-inch composite-barreled baseball bats receive a waiver of the moratorium, it will be noted on this list. Little League reserves the right to add to this list or make other changes as new information arises.
