Saint John and District Little League to Host……. The 2015 Little League Intermediate Canadian Championship July 24th-30th The Saint John and District Little League are pleased to be hosting the 2015 Little League Intermediate Canadian Championship this summer. The event will be held July 24-30th at Memorial Field on the Dever Road. The Intermediate Baseball Division is designed for players between 11-13 years of age. Players born in 2001 are qualified to play as long as they are not turning 14 prior to May 1st. All players must be registered with either the Saint John or Lancaster Little League Associations depending on their boundary.

This championship tournament is an annual, national event, hosted in different communities each year. The tournament winner will represent Canada at the Intermediate World Series in California, in August. This year, we expect teams to be traveling to Saint John from 5 different provinces and with our local, host team; this will make for an exciting 6 team tournament.

Events like this offer great opportunities for these young athletes and their families. Not only do they experience competition on the field, but many cultural and educational opportunities as well.

Saint John is proud to have been selected as the host team for this event and will warmly welcome these visitors. More than 100 players, coaches and family members will travel to our great city to participate in this event.

As with any national event comes a great deal of planning, organization and financial backing. That said we will be seeking community support in the way of sponsorship funding and volunteers to make this a success.

The Saint John and Lancaster Little League Associations will begin holding joint indoor clinics in Mid March with further information to follow. If you have any further questions please contact your local Little League Association.
