5,6 T-BALL The T-Ball program is a training process by which youngsters can learn, develop and practice fundamental baseball skills at an early age and receive maximum enjoyment from the experience. Rather than the ball being pitched to the batter, it is hit from atop a "tee". The youngster has the opportunity to develop hand-eye coordination and swing technique without fear of being hit by a pitched ball, and the defensive team is allowed more opportunities to develop fundamental fielding skills
7,8 AA This level is intended to promote an instructional, non-competitive atmosphere for youngsters with little or no baseball experience. The players start by hitting off of a “tee,” and progress to pitched ball (either by pitching machine or coach), and there are no walks. All kids play every game, and the coaches will attempt to play each youngster in as many different positions as possible. AA players will have an opportunity to improve their skills and learn more advanced skills at the Little League Spring Training Sessions.
9-12 AAA This is the earliest competitive level in the program and is also the first level where players are permitted to pitch. Special rules are used to keep the length of games and the scores within reason. Players at this level have developed the basic skills and knowledge to participate in full competition. Emphasis at this level is placed on improving individual skills and team play.
9-12 MAJORS This level consists of experienced and proficient players. Individual skills are improved and emphasized and a sense of strategy is brought to the game. All players wanting to play in the Majors Baseball Division MUST participate in at least one session of the Majors Baseball Tryouts. Any player who does not feel he or she is ready to play in the competitive Majors League should not attend the tryouts, but should participate in the Little League Spring Training. Majors teams primarily play teams from Los Alamos and White Rock, along with an occasional away game.
13,14 JUNIORS Advanced skill levels. Depending on the number of players, these Divisions may be combined with White Rock teams. These teams can expect to have away games in Santa Fe and other parts of Northern New Mexico.
