He got into coaching after his oldest daughter was playing Boys and Girls Club Volleyball and saw the need for some better trained coaches. In 2008 he was hired on staff at Lake VBC. The last 2 seasons he took 12 new girls to club in their U14 year and developed them using Gold Medal Squared principles and in their U15 season they finished #14 out of 52 teams in Power League and #11 out of 52 in Regionals.
