Lakeville Little League, Lakeville MA: Baseball 2005 Divisions

Lakeville Little League Age Guidelines
Your child’s ‘league age’ is determined by his / her age as of April 30th. For example, a child born on April 15, 2002 would be league age nine for the 2011 season. Likewise, a child born on May 20th, 2002 would be league age eight for the 2011 season.

Single A - League ages five, six and seven are eligible. A child who is league age five must turn six years old by August 31 of that same year to qualify. A year of tee ball is recommended but not required.

Double A - League ages six, seven and eight are eligible. League age six year olds are required to play at least one year of Single A before moving to Double A. League age seven and eight year olds are encouraged to have a year of Single A experience before moving to Double A.

Triple A - League ages eight, nine, 10, 11 and 12 are eligible. (If a 12 year-old would like to play Triple A, he / she may do so but will be required to submit written notification to the Board indicating a desire to waive their option to play in the Majors.) An eight year-old who would like to play Triple A must participate in one of the scheduled evaluation sessions. He / she may be drafted by a Triple A team as long as there are roster spots available (i.e. an eight year-old can not play Triple A if all available roster slots – based on the number of teams at the Triple A level – are filled with nine, 10, 11 and 12 year-old players).

Majors - League age nine, 10, 11 and 12 year-olds are eligible. 12 year-old players are guaranteed a roster slot assuming he / she is pre-registered and participates in one of the scheduled Majors try-outs.

Note:

•        If a child begins playing LLL at league age five, he / she will have a minimum of three years between Single and Double A.

•        If a child begins playing LLL at league age seven, he / she will have a minimum of one year between Single and Double A.
