Spring 2012 Online Registration Now Open

Important Notes & Dates  

2012 Registration:

Lakeville Little League will be holding two registration sessions in January.  The first is scheduled for Tuesday, January 10th at 3:00pm in the Assawompsett Elementary School cafeteria.  The second is scheduled for Sunday, January 15th from 9:00am - 11:00am at Somethin's Brewin', located at 245 Main Street in Lakeville, MA.  Please make every effort to register your player(s) at one of these sessions.  Registration forms are available in the 'Download Forms' section of our Web site.  Also, refer to the 'Divisions' section of this Web site for guidance regarding which division (e.g. Single A, Double A) your child should participate in for the upcoming season.  Please contact Kerri Peroni - kperoni@comcast.net - with questions regarding the registration process and events.  

2012 Major Try-Outs - FINAL SESSION:

Lakeville Little League will be holding a final session of tryouts for all players desiring to play in the upcoming Major League season on Sunday January 29, 2012 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at Grand Slam Hitting & Training Center, 391 West Water Street, Taunton, MA. All candidates who did not try-out in September must attend the tryouts in January to be eligible for the Major League draft. Any candidate who tried out in September is also encouraged to attend this tryout session, although attendance at a second tryout is not required.

Candidates should bring their glove, bat and batting helmet and be dressed in baseball appropriate attire.

New candidates who did not attend the September tryout must register with Lakeville Little League by January 22, 2012 and pay the Major League registration fee of $150 in full. Registration is open on-line at www.lakevillelittleleague.com. 

The Major League draft will be held on the weekend of February 11, and all candidates will be informed of Major League placement shortly thereafter. Any undrafted players will go into the Triple A draft pool for the 2012 season. The Triple A draft will be held later in the spring. The difference between the Triple A fee and the major league registration fee will be refunded to any players assigned to a Triple A team.

We Need Volunteers:

If you are interested in volunteering your time to LLL, chances are we can keep you busy.  Please contact Ken Olivieri at kenny@jkoins.com to discuss options and how you can help.  Thank you in advance for your generosity.  

To get a jumpstart on the process, please downland and complete the 2012 Volunteer Application and MA CORI forms from the 'Download Forms' section of our Web site. 

Criminal background checks must be run on all volunteers prior to any interaction with the players as mandated by National Little League Rules and Massachusetts state law for the protection of the children.  A signed Volunteer Application, a MA CORI Request Form and a copy of your driver’s license must be submitted in order for thebackground checks to be completed. Social Security numbers are required on all volunteer applications in order to complete the background checks.  (This applies to all volunteers and new forms must be submitted each year.) 

No volunteer will be allowed to interact with any team until all of their forms are received, and their background checks are completed. This is a requirement of Little League baseball and Massachusetts law, and will be strictly enforced for the protection of the children.  

The forms and background checks are kept strictly confidential and secure in accordance with Lakeville Little League policy. The forms may be mailed to LakevilleLittle League, PO Box 870, Lakeville MA 02347, or forwarded by email attachment to lakevillelittleleague@comcast.net
