Affordable appeared not to be at full strength as Cody was "under the weather" but neither rain, sleet, snow or ragweed could keep "The Mail Man" from crossing home plate.
The Valley Boys and Duke's Boys had the night off.

The Valley Boys "Slowly" take the Air out of Wilson Tire!
Led by Coach Randy "Boonie" Boone's 3 runs and 4 for 4 night at the plate, The Valley Boys fought back from a 2nd inning 13 - 5 deficit to beat Wilson Tire 18-17 with a walk off double (with no time left on the clock in the 6th) by Matt Petersen to score Jeremy who was pinch running for "Boonie". The rallying cry during this come back was " I wish Jesse could see this". With 2 outs in the 5th, Reid Faucette , Yank Yarbough and Chris Miles put together a string of hits to tie the game. Chris Miles and "Pride of the Warriors" Eric Oakley homered for The Boys. "The Pride" also robbed "Uncle Chuck" Oakley of a key hit in the 5th. Matt and Doug Zackery homered for Wilson. This loss "bumped" Wilson Tire out of first.
Nate's grand slam for Wilson Tire in the 7th "wrecked" Brogden Cars "road back to the championship"18-17 in the night's opener. Nate had 3 homers for Wilson. Brogden had homers from Jeff Bates(2),Page Keck and Paul(2).
Affordable Glass remained "firmly installed" in first place with a 24 -17 win over Indian Valley. Affordable was led by Brian(2),Sucker(2)and Kevin who all homered. Chris and Jeremy(2) homered for IV. "The Boys" are in search of a 3rd base coach that was MIA.
PTC cruised to a 20 - 14 win over Adams Towing and remained tied for first. A huge 5th and 6th inning and homers from Andy McCoy,Ryan Wood(2),Keith Ellington and Scott Ingle was too much for Adams Towing who was led by Chris and Bobby T(2) who homered.

New Century's 11 run 4th inning "flattened" Wilson Tire 25-12 led by Mack, Shawn,Neal and Matt(2)who homered. Doug had one homer for Wilson Tire. New Century moved within a half game of 1st place PTC, Affordable Glass and Wilson Tire.
PTC "soaked" Gregory Lawn Care 25-6 led by Chris Edward's 2 inning homer that "splashed down" in Belton's Pond for what was probably a record breaking shot. He also homered in the 4th as did Kevin Justice,Ryan Wood and Keith Ellington in the 3rd,1st and 2nd,respectively.
Brogden Cars was "sparked" by homers from Jeff Bates(2),Lynn Shoe and Ricky Sox and beat Gregory Lawn Care 19-3. Ken Woody was 3 for 3 and had a solid game for Brogden. Duke has an opportunity to gain on the leaders with back to back games against 1st place Wilson Tire this week and appears to be ready to "overhaul" the standings.
Affordable Glass "clearly" put themselves in position for the stretch run with a 21-11 win over Adams Towing led by Brian Foster,Kevin and Ray Moore who all homered. Will had 3 homers and Jeff Revis had 1 for Adams Towing but it was not enough to "break" Affordable Glass.
Big Games are scheduled for Wed & Thursday including make up games.

Gregory Lawn Care was "trimmed" by Adams Towing 16-13 led by Will,Pierce and Chris G who all homered. Gregory played one of there best games to date and with this kind of performance will certainly be in the win column soon.

PTC" Burglarizes and Cleans Out "Indian Valley Mini Mart
Despite a 2 run homer by "Don't Never Give Up" Weasel Gilliam in the 6th, Indian Valley was unable to overcome a 1st inning 11 run barrage by PTC 33-3. PTC was led by Andy McCoy (1 HR) and Chris Edwards(2HR)who each scored 4 runs. Ryan Wood (PTC), Bennie Thomas (PTC)and Reid Faucette(IV) also homered and each player for PTC crossed home plate. Adams Towing "Hauls In" Brogden Cars For 3rd Win
Adams Towings late rally and homers from Haney and Mike C proved to be the difference in the 17-13 win over Brogden Cars. Brogden Cars had homers from Ricky and Jeff Bates but appeared to "run out of gas" after the 5th inning.
Wilson Tire "rolled over" PTC 21-12 led by Jason and Josh(2)who both homered. The top of the line up Doug, Matt and Nate each had three runs each. PTC had homers from Chris Edwards and Derek Sutton.
Affordable Glass "trimmed" Gregory Lawn Care 21-3 led by the defense of pitcher Steve Johnson and the offense of Pete Harrelson who went 3 for 3. Steve Johnson had the play of the season thus far and will certainly make ESPN's "Play of the Week". Steve Gregory's 2nd inning shot up the middle was snagged by Steve who threw a blind behind the back backhand to the 1st baseman for an inning ending double play.Affordable remains tied with Wilson Tire for 1st place.
Indian Valley Mini Mart moved into a tie for 2nd place with a forfeit over New Century. It was Indian Valley's best managed and defensive game of the year and provided them back to back wins.

Lakeview's Unofficial Mayor Will be Missed.
James Woody often referred to as the "Mayor of Lakeview" went to be with the Lord Monday Night. He was a Charter Member of the Lakeview Civitans and instrumental in the creation of the Ball Field and Club House. The games began with a moment of silence and a seat often occupied by James was reserved behind home plate in his memory. He was also a faithful member of Lakeview Community Church. Lakeview feels a little empty tonight and he will be greatly missed. Our prayers go out to the Woody Family.

Affordable Glass "Shatters" Indian Valley Mini Mart....
Affordable Glass shattered Indian Valley Mini Mart with a 19 run 1st inning and breezed to a 27 to 4 win. The 1st inning "CLEARly" belonged to Cody who had triple homers. Ray Moore and Lance Huff each homered to cap off an impressive offensive performance. Reid Faucette homered for the Valley Boys but it was not enough to overcome the offensive and defensive loss of Mike "Weasel" Gilliam who was injured early in the game.
Brogden Cars remained in the drivers seat with a 18 to 14 win over Wilson Tire. A 4 run 5th took the air out of Wilson Tire. Brogden was paced with homers from Tim(2),Bates(2 and Jim. Homers by David W.,Brian,Jason(2)and Keith were not enough to roll Wilson Tire into the win column.
Duncan Exxon "roared" past Travis Garage 27 to 21 and survived a late 14 run rally in the 4th. Duncan was led by Nate(2) and Ricky Taylor(2)who each homered and Jesse Gwynn(2)who walked. Travis had homers from Guy,Troy(2)and Jeff Queen.

Prime Time Stays Within One Game of Brogden Cars!
Digital Discoveries Prime Time squeaked by Duncan Exxon 21 to 20 in a key win to stay within one game of Brogden Cars. A key homer by Bennie in the 5th with 2 outs tied the game 19/19 in an inning that saw both teams combine for 17 runs. A key 3rd out tag by Duncan Catcher Jessie Gwynn preceded by a diving catch by Matt Trollinger in foul territory stopped a 6th inning game winning run by Prime Time forcing a 7th. Duncan scored one in the 7th while Prime Time scored twice sparked by Bennie's key hit and Kenny R's winning run. Kit(2),Ric and Nate homered for Duncan while Alan, Bennie,Kevin R and Bobby(2) homered for Prime Time.
Brogden Cars cruised past Indian Valley Mini Mart 19 to 9 to remain firmly in first place. Homers by Bates,Pyrtle,John Michael(2)and Cootie paced Brogden. Back to back homers by an injured Michael"Weasel"Gilliam and homers from Keith Brannock and David Miles were not enough to "slow down" Brogden as they speed towards the regular season championship.
Wilson Tire "cracked" the win column with a 19 to 10 win over Affordable Glass. Alan,Keith and Jason had key homers in the 6th as Wilson "rolled" to a 7 run 6th. Homers by Affordable's Cody, Steve and Shine was not enough to let the air out of Wilson Tire.
Tuesday, September 2
First Tournament Game begins 9:00 Sat. Sept 20th!!
Affordable Glass remains tied for second with Digital Discoveries after blowing past Carolina Hang-Ups 22 to 6. Both Affordable and Digital trail Brogden Cars by 1 game with 4 games left in the season. Homers by Steve,Paul and Ray paced Affordable Glass. A special appearance by Joe Greene, who went 3 for 3, seemed to "spark" Duncan's offense. Craig Huffman's two run shot in the 7th and Wayne's 3 for 3 night was not enough to "tame the tiger".
The tournament will begin Sat. Sept 20th and ends Sun. Sept 21st. Click under "Handouts" for tournament brackets!
Thursday, August 28
Travis Garage "OVERHAULS" League Standings With Win !!!
Travis Garage's 17 to 15 win over Digital Discoveries Prime Time knocked the Prime Time Guys out of 1st place and "Jacks Up" Brogden Cars into sole possession of first place. Michael(2),Guy,Rene and Keith's homers appear to have repaired Travis' offensive. Homers by Prime Time's Josh(2)and Kevin R. were not enough to overcome a key double play by Travis' second baseman that held Prime Time scoreless in the 4th.
Brogden Cars "took the air out" of Wilson Tire early to hang on to a 15 to 11 win. Eight runs in the first by Brogden combined with Wilson Tire's scoreless 1st,2nd and 5th innings "deflate" their "drive" for an upset.
In the first game, Carolina Hang Ups forfeited to Indian Valley Mini Mart. An unofficial 9 to 2 win by The Valley Boys served as a "tune up" for Tuesday's game with Travis Garage.
Tuesday, August 26
Brogden Cars "MOTORS" past Duncan Exxon for key win!
Brogden Cars' eight run first and balanced hitting was too much for Duncan Exxon in a 23 to 14 key win. Ken "Stretch" Woody, Tim Dameron,Jeff Bates,Johnny Winn and Allen each homered to pace Brogden. Back to back homers by Ricky(2)and Chad along with Nathan's solo shot was not enough as Duncan "sputtered" in the late innings.
Allen Williamson's three run shot in the 7th brought Indian Valley Mini Mart with in 2 runs of Affordable Glass but it was "CLEARly" too little too late as Affordable Glass slid to a 16 to 14 win. And homers by Cody(2),Jamey and Lance Huff kept Affordable Glass "CLEARly" in site of 1st place.
Digital Discoveries Prime Time remains tied for first with a 16 to 6 "hanging" of Carolina Hang ups. Homers by Prime Time's Josh(2),Kevin R(2) and Johnny proved to be the difference. Chris George homered for the Hang Ups.
Digital Discoveries Prime Time and Brogden Cars remain in first place with Affordable Glass only one game behind after 9 games with 5 games remaining in the season. Looks as if pairings for the tournament will not be determined until the last night of the regular season, Sept 18th.
The tournament will begin Saturday September 20th.

Brogden "Shatters" Affordable Glass hopes.......
With time running out Affordable Glass could not stop the hits and their hopes of taking the game into the seventh were "shattered" in a 17 to 10 Brogden win. Homers by Cooty, Ricky (2), Chad, and Michael Wallace "drove" Brogden's win. Homers by Affordable's Jamie and Paul were not enough to overcome one of Brogden's best defensive games with key plays by 1st baseman, Ken "Stretch" Woody, and 3rd baseman, Michael Wallace.
Duncan Exxon "tuned up" for an upcoming showdown with Brogden Tuesday with a 20 to 5 with a win over Travis Garage. Duncan was paced by DH Jesse Gwynn's 2 for 3 night and homers from Page Keck (2), Ricky Taylor, Ricky Turner and a game ending solo shot by Nathan Holcomb.
Wilson Tire "rolled again" to a 20 to 6 victory over Carolina Hangups. Jason "pumped up" Wilson Tire with 3 home runs, joined by Barry and Craig Huffman, who also homered.
Prime Time and Brogden are now tied for 1st with Duncan and Affordable only one game behind the leaders!
Tuesday, August 19
Affordable Glass "BREAKS" Digital Discoveries Win Streak....
Affordable Glass appears to have Digital Discoveries number after a 21 to 20 win to sweep their head to head match up 2 to 0 handing them only their second loss of the season. Cody had back to back homers that included a 3 run shot in the 4th to take the lead. The lead was extended in the 4th with Steve Johnson's second homer of the night also a two run shot. Rick Webster and Steve Johnson's RBIs sealed the win in the 6th.
Brogden Cars "cranked up" their offense for a 24 to 0 win over Travis Garage. The Brogden offense was paced by homers from Jeff Bates(2), Michael Wallace and Chad.
Wilson Tire "rolled over" Indian Valley Mini Mart 19 to 13 led by Craig Huffman's back to back homers and Barry Huff's defense. Homers by "Valley Boys" David Miles and Keith Brannock (2) were not enough to "patch holes" created by the Wilson Tire bats.
Digital Discoveries holds a slim half game lead over Brogden Cars and Affordable Glass who meet in a key 7:30 match up Thursday!
Thursday, August 14
The Valley Boys Ride "Miles" To Get To Duncan Exxon......
Indian Valley Mini Mart, riding on the back of David Miles who went 4 for 4 including 1 home run and a key defensive stop late in the game, rallied and then held on to down Duncan Exxon 14 to 13. Key home runs by Miles, Michael "Weasel" Gilliam, Reid Faucette and Keith Brannock(2) along with key hits late from Scott"Dump Truck" Boone, Brad Caldwell, "Weasel" and Faucette boosted the Valley Boys after a slow start. A rare appearance by veteran catcher Dale Page sparked the early rally with a two out base hit up the middle for an RBI. After an eight run first inning Duncan appeared to "run low" until the late innings. Duncan was "fueled" by home runs from Ricky Taylor, Ricky Turner and Nate Holcomb.
Affordable Glass survived a late run by Travis Garage to hang on for a 17 to 15 win. Travis "repaired" their bats after the last game with 5 home runs including a 7 run 6th inning. But it was not enough to slip past Affordable Glass' 10 run 1st including a homer from Cody and a 4 run 6th.
In the late game, Brogden Cars cruised to a 23 to 15 win that featured 5 home runs by each team.
Tuesday, August 12
Carolina Hang-Ups "Throw Monkey Wrench" in Travis Garage....
Carolina Hang-Ups break into the win column and spoil Travis Garage's run 18 to 3 led with homers from Will B and Jason. Travis struck first with their first three batters scoring but were unable to manufacture any runs after the first inning.
Digital Discoveries/Prime Time "locked out" Duncan Exxon 22 to 8 and took a 1 1/2 game lead over Duncan for sole possession of first place. Prime Time had a 8 run 1st and a nine run 3rd inning led with homers from Josh(2), Kevin R, Kevin J and Bobby. Page Keck and Ricky Turner homered for Duncan. Prime Time has the top offense in the league outscoring their opponents 130 to 82 with Duncan posting the best defense with 79 runs against.
In the last game of the night, Affordable Glass withstood a late "roll" by Wilson Tire to hang on to a 20/17 victory. Affordable was led by Lance with back to back homers and shots from Cody and Rick. Alan Shaw, Keith Griffin and Jason Mashburn homered for Wilson.
The Valley Boys and Brogden had the night off.
Thursday, August 7

In a "Prime Time" defensive "cage match", Brad Thomas drove in the winning run in the eight to propel Digital Discoveries over Brogden Cars 15 to 14. Benny, Johnny and Kevin Royer all homered for Digital along with Kevin Justice who's three run shot in the bottom of the 6th tied the game 10/10. Cody, David Faucette, Jeff Bates, John Michael and Michael Wallace all homered for Brogden but it was not enough to knock Digital Discoveries/ Prime Time out of first place.
Duncan Exxon flattened Wilson Tire 17 to 5 with two homers from Larry and three from Nathan. Duncan remains within a half game of the Prime Time Guys.
Indian Valley Mini Mart was unable to overcome a 17 run first inning by Travis Garage who "repaired" their record with a 23 to 7 win. Guy, Micah, Renee and Freddy all homered for Travis while Keith Brannock and Reid Faucette homered for the Valley Boys.
Tuesday, August 5
Affordable Glass "BLOWS" past Duncan Exxon!
On a windy Lakeview night Affordable Glass came from behind with a game winning two run shot by Larry to defeat previously undefeated Duncan Exxon 21 to 20. Both Larry and Steve had two back to back homers for the Defending Champions. Duncan Exxon's Larry and Nathan had two homers a piece in a loosing effort.
Indian Valley Mini Mart held on to defeat Carolina Hang-Ups 21 to 18 after both teams combined for a 15 run first inning. Scott was joined in the home run fest by James "Speedy" Whitaker, "Weasel" Gilliam, Keith Brannock and Randy "Papa Bear" Boone. This was the first win for the young Valley Boys.

After a barrage of homers early Brogden Cars could only muster two hits in the last two innings while Duncan Exxon capitalized on homers by Ric Taylor, Kit Hall and Tony Greenstock. Duncan Exxon removes Brogden Cars from the "drivers seat".
Travis Garage "flattened" Wilson Tire 18 to 6 with homers from Keith, Renne and 2 from Guy. Travis continues to spotlight its offensive show of base hits.
Back to back homers from Jeff, two homers from Josh and a three run shot by Robbie was too much for the Carolina Hang-Ups as Prime Time cruised to a 16 to 10 win. Joey and Mike homered in a loosing effort.
In a make up game, Duncan Exxon "put water" in Indian Valley Mini Mart's tank with an official game cut short by rain. After a 12 run first inning Duncan appeared to be "running low on fuel" while the young "Valley Guys" appeared to be making a run led by back to back homers from Michael "Weasel" Gilliam. Duncan escaped 15 to 8.
