As of Oct. 11, 2009, the Lake Pointe Lazers have withdrawn from the Austin Hills Swim League. We will be creating of a new swim league that will consist of teams in our immediate area. The teams that will be joining us at this time in the new league are West Austin, and Lakeway. Other neighborhoods have approached us to help them start a team that would be included in the new league.
Although we have considered the development of a new league for several years, we believe that now is the best time to start the process. Based on the feedback from parents, the main issues that we want to address are as follows:
· A later start date for the swim season. (Waiting until school is over.)
· Possibly making a longer, but less rigid, swim season. Allowing families to take vacations, go to camp, and other activities, but still come back to swim with friends everyday.
· More flexiblily with swim practices ( no more "10 practic es before the first meet")
· No more late night Country Club meets, or on a school nights.
· With the changes in schedule, this might allow the older kids to swim, hence fostering more community involvement.
· With changes in schedule, the water would be warmer.
· Making the swim season/meets more fun by making the season less stressful and more community orriented.
We are asking for your feedback and guidance to best serve the children in our community. Going forward with this opportunity will require a great deal of patience and help from the parents in the league. In order to move in a positive directi on, we need your input. Please respond with your ideas and comments. Also, if you have any experience working with swim leagues in other areas, your knowledge would be most appreciated.

RAIN-OUT POLICY
In the case of rain only: we will have practice/meet anyway.
In the case of thunder/lightning: During practice/meet, swimmers get out of the pool, and under the clubhouse patio roof and wait 20 minutes for it to clear. If it doesn't clear, practice for that age group will be dismissed, and/or the meet will be canceled.
If your age group has not started practice/meet, please check this site for further updates.
The coaches will remain at the pool during practice/meet hours. If in doubt, come to the pool to see if we are still swimming.
