Padres Game Tickets are in and they will be at the SUNSET SNACKBAR on Wednesday April 29th from 5-7pm.

RE: San Diego Padres –Little League Day Pre-game Warning Track Parade – Sunday, May 3rd, 2015

Here is all of the information that you and your leagues need to know about our pre game parade on Sunday, May 3rd . Please make sure that this information gets forwarded on to all participating leagues/teams.

Parade Starting Location: 7th Avenue between K Street and L Street. Participants will be staged outside the Western Metal Building and Padres representatives will be on hand for directions.

Parade Start Time: 11:45 a.m. - Teams and coaches can start lining up beginning at 10:45 a.m. Participants must be in line no later than 11:30 a.m. in order to participate in the parade. Corals will be labeled by league name, so look for your posted league name to know where to line up. Anyone arriving after 11:30 am may not be able to participate in the parade if turnout is greater than anticipated.

Who Can Participate: Only Little League players and coaches will be able to participate in the parade. Each team will be allowed two coaches. Coaches will be responsible for their team throughout the parade and until their teams are in their seats or paired back up with their parents. Due to the large number of attendees expected, we cannot include parents (other than coaches) in the parade.

What To Wear: All participants (including coaches) should attend the parade dressed in their team jersey and tennis shoes. (No cleats will be allowed on the warning track.)

League/Team Banners: Team and/or League banners can be presented during the parade. Banners cannot contain any corporate or sponsor logos and must be able to be folded away during the game. Poles to hold up the banner will not be allowed.

Parade Route: The parade will start through the Western Metal Building breezeway entering the playing field at the Left Field foul pole. The parade will make its way down the Left Field Line, around home plate, up the Right Field line, exiting the playing field at the Right Field foul pole. Participants will exit the building through the Team Member Entry and be directed to re-enter the Ballpark through the Park Boulevard Gate or East Village Gate. Participants must remain on the warning track at all times and will not be allowed onto the grass. In order to get the large number of participants through the parade route in a timely manner, the Padres ask that coaches keep their team moving at all times.

No pictures will be allowed to be taken during the parade.

Please Note: Each parade participant should be in possession of their game ticket. Although tickets will not be scanned prior to taking part in the parade they will be required to have a game ticket to participate.

The parade will end outside the gates of Petco Park. Participants will re-enter through any gate and will need to have their ticket to be scanned upon re-entry. Coaches should be prepared to stay with their team and escort them to their seats or back to their parents after the parade. Each child must present a valid game ticket in order to enter.

Lake Murray Sunset Field Gets a New Infield Surface

Lake Murray Sunset Field Gets a New Infield Surface

Thursday January 16th and Friday January 17th Sunset field was laser graded, and new soil was added to the infield. Photos are provided of the construction in action.

Faro LaFata Enterprises, Inc generously performed the work at a discount price, making a large donation to the league in the process. President David Gordon was able to secure the pay and donate deal with Faro LaFata Enterprises, Inc. “Working with local contractors to improve the Sunset playing field has been one of my priorities this season,” and “Bringing a high quality playing surface to the field will benefit the league (our Kids) and our partners here at Sunset”.

New Field Manager Chuck Cadwalader is finishing up his improvement projects at Sunset Field, getting ready for Opening Day. “The playing surface we installed on the field today brings a high quality surface and look”. The improvements for the field included; smoothing out the infield, and then adding 16 yards of new soil. A combination of 20% Clay, 70% Sand and 10% silt a special mix for Baseball infields. Using a laser, the field was then graded by a tractor.

President Gordon and all of us here at Lake Murray Little League would like to a give a special thanks to Faro LaFata Enterprises, Inc. for the work and donation.

Rule Changes for the 2014 Season

Important Rule Changes for the 2014 Little League® Season

As we enter into the 75th year of Little League, we want to advise you of several important changes to the rules and regulations that you'll see in the 2014 Little League® Rulebooks. We hope that these changes help make your entire season a successful one, and we look forward to celebrating our Diamond Anniversary with you throughout the year.

Residency and School Attendance Eligibility

In an effort to accommodate for Little Leaguers to play with their classmates, and ease the burden on parents and guardians, Little League has amended its residency requirements to allow children to play in the local league whose boundaries where they attend school is located. To verify enrollment, parents will need to bring an official school document, such as a report card or school enrollment form, confirming enrollment in the school for the current academic year, dated before October 1, 2013. Read the full text of the new rule here.

"Little League is always looking for more ways to give all children the opportunity to have the best Little League experience possible," said Patrick Wilson, Little League Senior Vice President of Operations and Program Development. "This new rule will provide more flexibility for families to participate in the leagues that best fits their children."

Retaining Birth Certificates for Tournament Eligibility Affidavit

To streamline the tournament eligibility affidavit process, all birth certificates will be returned to parents after the District Administrator approves a team's affidavit. Team managers will no longer be required to carry the birth certificates with the affidavit throughout the tournament season. Read the full text of the new rule here.

"While it is important as ever to ensure that all our tournaments are played fairly and competitively, we believe that this will make our tournament process run smoother, and allows parents to retain these sensitive documents," said Mr. Wilson.

Financial Responsibility for Tournament Travel

For those United States teams advancing through the International Tournament, Little League has amended the financial responsibility for those driving to tournaments. In 2014, all U.S. teams traveling 150 miles or more per one round trip to Section tournaments and beyond will be eligible to receive compensation to defray their travel expenses. These U.S. teams will be eligible to be reimbursed $1 per mile. Read the full text of the new rule here.
