BECOME A NORTH STAR

IN 2008

SEMI-PRO AND PROUD


 

 

The Plattsburgh North Stars are an adult amateur minor-league football team. The Stars are solely owned and operated by its members. The Stars are a member of the Empire Football League, who will be conducting their 40th season in 2008. The EFL has teams from three northeastern states (New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont)and two Canadian provincies (Quebec and Ontario). The EFL utilizes NFL rules and games are played in a professional NFL style.

The Plattsburgh North Star players are responsible for their own equipment and player's dues. Equipment can be purchased through the Stars, via direct contacts with Stadium Equipment Inc., Riddell or Anaconda Sports. The Stars colors are Maroon and Vegas Gold. The Stars use a vegas gold helmet with a maroon face mask. Offensive players are required to have a white practice jersey and defensive players a maroon or black practice jersey. Game uniforms are provided by the organization.

The Plattsburgh North Stars will play the Vermont Ravens in a benefit preseason game on June 28th, 2008 at 7:30 pm in Ticonderoga, New York.  The Stars and Ravens are both excited to be part of Ticonderoga's Kick Off into the 4th of July week celebrations.  The Stars are also proud to be the inaugural opponent of the Central Vermont Rampage who will be playing their very first semi-pro game against the Stars in Plattsburgh on June 21, 2008 at 7:30 pm.



Thursday, May 1
North Stars to open pre-season camp

The Plattsburgh North Stars will start practice on Tuesday May 13, 2008 at Bailey Ave Park.  Practice will be from 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm.  Week one will be helmets, shorts and t-shirt.  Cleats are required and players dues must be turned in at this time.  For more information contact Coach Keleher @ 643-2997.

STARS RECEIVE AWARDS
Several Lake City Star players were recognized for their play in 2007. Those who received First Team Offensive honors are; Wide Receiver, Matt St. Clair - Center, Nick Moore - Full Back, Kyle Nolan. Those who received First Team Defensive honors are; Linebacker, BJ Godfrey - Defensive Tackle, Mike Thwaits - Defensive End, Kyle Babbie - Defensive Back, Brandon St. John. Those who received Second Team Offensive honors are; Running Back, Brandon Keleher, Guard, Ryon Sorrell - Tackle, Keith Lamoy. Those who received Second Team Defensive honors are; Nose Tackle, Nick Weaver. The 2007 EFL Ironman of the Year was awarded to the Stars Heath Geiser. Congratulations to all of the Lake City Stars EFL All-Stars for 2007!
