Kylie Sparks Picks University of Maine
Kylie Sparks a senior at Junita High School, recently verbally committed to play softball at the University of Maine. Last season the Black Bears went 32-22 overall
and 12-9 to finish 5th in the America East conference. Deb Smith will be entering her second year as head coach for the 2009-2010 season. Congratulations Kylie!
College World Series Rings
At the recent Surf City Tournament, Margo Leiter meets up with Gina Carbonatto - UW Coach and Tracie Adix - South Dakota State Coach. The two Lake Breeze
alumni on a recruiting trip, proudly show off their College World Series rings after watching the Lake Breeze Gold team Saturday night. The team concluded their fall
schedule after two trips to California and a trip to Florida for the Rising Stars tournament.
Lake Breeze Birch Wraps Up Fall Season
The Lake Breeze Birch team finished their fall season at the Surf City tournament this past weekend. In addition to this tournament the team traveled to Florida
for the Rising Stars Fall Showcase and the Surf City October Showcase. Over the three consecutive weekends the team played 20 games against gold teams from across the
country showcasing their talent in front of college coaches.
16 Fritz at the Surf City Early Thanksgiving Tournament
The Lake Breeze Fritz team traveled to California over the weekend of October 31st to play in the Surf City Early Thanksgiving Tournament. Escaping the cold Northwest
weather, the team played 7 games over three days. For many on the team it was their first experience at a college recruiting tournament and the experience will be a
great start at winter training and preparation for next summer's run at 16 nationals.
Dani Jackman Picks Grand Canyon University
Dani Jackman a senior at Jackson High School recently verbally committed to play softball at Grand Canyon University. Grand Canyon is lead by head coach Ann Pierson who
is the only head softball coach in the schools history and guided the Lopes to a career record 37 wins in 2009. GCU is located in Phoenix, Arizona and plays in the
NCAA DIV II Pacific West Conference.
LB Gold Leiter, Sidewinder Tournament Champs
In their first tournament of the fall, the Lake Breeze Gold Leiter team went 5-1 at the Sidewinder Fall Invite to earn the championship trophy. The team
outscored their opponents 30-14 and continued to improve each game as they prepare for the remainder of the fall schedule. LB Gold Leiter will
be back on the field in October as they head to California for the Surf City October Showcase followed by the Rising Stars tournament in Florida and finally
back in California.
