Spikes start season off with 10-2 record

So far so good for The Lady Spikes. Spikes are off to a hot start and have no expectations of stopping now. The Spikes have been rained out one full tournament and two bracket Sunday's. Spikes have won an USSSA Indoor Tournament, finished 1st in pool play with a 3-0 record and was crowned the 16u Tournament Champs of the NSA Spring Fling with rain cancelling bracket play and had best overall record of teams and most recently Spikes finished 2-1 in the ASA Battle of the Clubs. The Spikes would have two signature wins telling everyone in the softball world they are for real in 2012. Spikes would beat a very good Gamers (B) team 5-3 in the NSA Spring Fling and would also beat another top team in the MO - Heat (Copeland) 11-2 in the ASA Battle of the Clubs. Spikes were set to play some of the top teams in bracket play like Nemesis, Chaos. Fusion, Prospects and other top ASA and NSA teams.  Spikes will take a week off and get in a couple good practices before the next tournament. Spikes next hit the dirt May 11-13 Weekend. It won't be long before the Spikes will get back several key players. Spikes dealing with a few key injuries and a player that is still competiting in High School ball.  Very exciting start to the 2012 season. Lots of hard work was put in this   off-season by the girls and if you want to see the results of their hard work check out the schedule for the 2012 season. Go Get Em Ladies!!

Spikes were schedule to start tournament play April 6th in the ASA Easter Shootout. However, mother nature would have something to say about when the Spikes would start playing Softball. The Spikes have been hard at work this off-season by working on Stength, Speed, Agility and various other sports specific training. Players would see dramatic change in speed, athleticism and most of all team chemsistry. The players were ready to put there off-season work to the test but will have to wait till another time. Spikes are next scheduled to play in the NSA Spring Fling in Fenton. Site will be updated with game times as soon as schedules posted.

Spikes have successful Mouse Race / Casino Night

The St. Louis Lady Spikes teamed up with several area teams for a Mouse Race / Casino Night fundraiser this past friday. Spikes teamed up with Host team The St. Louis Fusion Pollard and Federhoffer, Warcats 18u Tuescher, 14u St. Peter's Royals, and Mid Mo Impact (Basketball). With with over 75 tables the night would have in-store a lot of fun. The event had mouse races, 5 card draw, Black Jack and Craps and much more fun. Spikes would sell out for 13 tables and would do well in there silent auction items selling 23 of 30 items. Spikes would have one 50 state raffle and would sell out all 50 spaces. The event was a success for the team and should put a nice dent in the teams expenses for 2012. Thank you to all parents, friends and families of the St. Louis Lady Spikes. We look forward to seeing all those envolved this summer for some Lady Spike Softball.

Spikes to team up with USSSA Pride of NPF

The St. Louis Lady Spikes have been accepted to join the Jr USSSA Pride Program for 2012 and moving forward. Joining the Jr Pride progam will allow several new and fun opportunties for the Ladies and the orginazation. With the opportunity to join the Jr Pride program this will allow for the Lady Spikes to build the Orginazation it has been desperately seeking. Spikes in 2012 will change the name to the Pride. Also the team is working with other teams to build an orginazation that will also be able to join the Jr Pride program. The Spikes (Pride) are looking for in 2012 to carry 3 teams to start the year. One 18u, 16u and a 14u team. Having a backing the teams will have with the Pride program should allow teams to draw talented players to the orginazation. Rather its current rostered players or new teams searching for new talent as a future orginazation we are looking forward to the fun times ahead.

Spikes will head to Orlando, FL for Nationals in 2012 to compete in the USSSA 16u B division. Spikes will get the chance to meet with USSSA Pride players and coaching staff. Have a special dinner with Pride players as well as other Jr Pride teams. A chance after opening ceremonies to get autographs from Pride players as well sit front row at a Pride softball game at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex. Just one of the few perks of being a Jr Pride team. We are very excited about the opportunity and the hopes to continue to work with USSSA and the Pride benefit all groups involved.
