Scorps Come up Short but Play Their Hearts Out

Game one of the Daytona Beach Sunshine Classic saw defending State Champion Brewbaker Tech Academy from Montgomery, Alabama take on your Satellite Lady Scorpions.  The game was back and forth the entire game with Satellite leading most of the way off good defense and strong post play including 15 rebounds from Junior Forward Hannah Stahl.  Also, Senior Forward, Jennie Carmody's second half effort of 21 points including 3 three pointers in a row at one point and 11 fourth quarter points looked like it would be enough for the Scorps.  Unfortuantely a late rally by the Brewbaker and fundamental free throw shooting took the game away at the final moments.  Satellite had 2 opportunities to win in int he final 20 seconds forcing an overtime period where it was all Brewbaker.

Final score was Satellite 45 - Brewbaker 55.  The final overtime period included the points off free throws having to foul at he end, but all in all these ladies played their hearts out.  It was unboubtably one of our best efforts of the season.  The coaches were proud of each and everyone of our ladies.

Next up for the girls is Wednesday December 28 at Silver Sands Middle School they take on Kell Academy from West Kentucky at 11:00 am.

Dont' forget to check the twitter feed for quarter by quarter updates during the game including player and coaches quotes and the final score.

Daytona Beach Sunshine Classic

We are booked and ready to go for the 2011 Daytona Beach Sunshine Classic.  We'll be staying at the Shores Resort again as we did last season.  We will work hard over this next week getting ready to go and play hard and get a win up there this time.  We'll obviously have some time off for Christmas Holiday.  I will reiterate that schedule shortly.

 Good Luck Scorps!
