GREENWOOD FASTPITCH.....A WINNING TRADITION !!!!!


Home of 15 DISTRICT TITLES, 10 REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS, a 1997 State Runner-Up, a 2003 3rd Place finish, a 2006 5th place finish, BACK TO BACK 2007 and 2008 STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS, a fourth place finish in 2012 and a UNDEFEATED PERFECT SEASON (44-0) with our 3rd STATE CHAMPIONSHIP in 2013 ..... All since Kentucky went to Fastpitch in 1995!

Our overall team record after 19 seasons of fastpitch is now 578-148-1.

The 2013 Lady Gators made history......44 consecutive wins to finish the perfect season with a Record of 44-0....the first Kentucky team to ever do so. They also finished with a 3rd place National Ranking in the MaxPreps poll. They defeated Owensboro Catholic in the state championship game to complete their historical mission.

Individual Awards of the 2013 Season included:

All-District Tournament: Aeron Smith (MVP), Paige Coles, Raley Slone, Elizabeth Moss and Alexis Dean

All-Regional Tournament: Aeron Smith (MVP), Elizabeth Moss, Katelyn Merritt, Emily Gravette and Alexis Dean

All-State Tournament:   Elizabeth Moss (MVP), Aeron Smith, Raley Slone and Angela Adkins (Leadership Award)

MaxPreps All-American Team: Elizabeth Moss and Raley Slone

3A All-State Team: Elizabeth Moss, Aeron Smith, Raley Slone and Angela Adkins

East-West Junior All-Stars: Raley Slone
East-West Senior All-Stars: Emily Gravette and Angela Adkins

Coach Penny Reece was named the 2013 MaxPreps National Coach of the Year.

She and her staff ( Traci Krulik, Kaci Carpenter and Laura Smith) were also named the 3A Kentucky Coaching Staff of the Year.

The 2012 Lady Gators had a tremendous season, winning the 4th Region Tournament over #1 state ranked ACS and finally getting back to the Ky State Tournament. Both of their heartbreaking losses were in extra innings and they came away with a 4th place finish....final record was 40-7.


After the 2012 season, the overall Greenwood Fastpitch Softball record is 534-148-1.....making us the 5th most winning team in the history of Fastpitch in the state of Kentucky !!!!!!

The 2011 Lady Gators finished the season with a 30-8 record, losing to eventual state champion Allen Co. Scottsville in the 4th Region Tournament.

Coach Penny Reece recorded her 500th career win on Thursday,April 28 with a 9-0 win over Warren East.....making her the second most winningest coach in the history of Kentucky Fastpitch. 17 of those 500 wins are from her first year as Head Coach of the Greenwood Slowpitch Softball Team. She also picked up #501 on that night with a 10-0 win over Warren East.


Jan. 3, 2011.....Senior outfielder Elizabeth Jordan has signed to play her college softball at Wallace State in Hanceville, Alabama...congrats EJ!!

The 2010 Lady Gator team finished with a 24-15 record and won the 14th District Championship.

"WE WENT BACK IN BLACK AND WE ATTACKED!!!!" was the motto that the team carried thru the state championship run.

Rachel Riley was named MVP for the second straight state championship - joining her on the All-Tournament Team were Lindsey Green,Amanda Walden and Laura Smith. Whitnee Lee received the Sportmanship Award.

The Lady Gators, coming into the state tournament with a record of 35-5 and ranked #1 in the state, defeated Christian Co., Louisville Butler, North Laurel, and Scott Co. to meet Ryle in the championship game. The final score was 4-0 and they finish the season with a 40-5 record. As a reflection of the post-season motto and team play....you can definitely say they Lady Gators "Turned it On !!!!

2007 4TH REGION CHAMPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Lady Gators defeated Allen Co. Scottsville 7-3 in the finals to capture the 2007 4th Region Crown. Rachel Riley was named the Tournament MVP - joining her on the All-Tournament Team were Elizabeth Ferrell, Lindsey Green, Jessie Dunning and Amanda Walden.

Greenwood is the 2007 14th District Champion!!!! They defeated Warren Central 10-0 and Warren East 3-0 in the finals. The Tournament MVP was Rachel Riley and joining her on the All-Tournament Team were Jessie Dunning, Lindsey Green, Whitnee Lee and Elizabeth Ferrell.

Juniors Amanda Walden and Laura Smith have been chosen to play for the Kentucky Jr. West All-Stars June 15-17 in Lexington - congratulations girls!

2006....Senior Brittany York signed to play her college ball at the University of Louisville and was named "MISS KENTUCKY SOFTBALL"....Her #8 jersey will be retired.
