This update is to inform you that the Lady Bombers will be taking a break for the Fall of 2010 and it is still to be determined as to whether this organization will continue in to 2011. Head Coach Krista Leachman Womble is grateful to have had the opportunity to coach the girls up to their participation in collegiate softball. "It is with my great honor to congratulate ALL of my eligible players (11 total), class of 2010 and class of 2011, on being offered and signing softball scholarships." With the amount of players that we will be losing to college, it would be hard for us to continue to participate at the elite level as we have been doing the past few years. We also do not have the coaching capacity at this time to recruit an entire new team. We appreciate all of the support and look forward to our future!

Kaylan has played with our organization for 4 years now and has been a great attribute to our team. She has contributed not only as a first baseman but also has stepped in as a pitcher when needed. Recently, she made All County for Shelby County as an infielder at Montevallo High School. I am proud to announce that she has been offered a scholarship to Northwest Shoals Community College in Florence, AL. On behalf of all of the Lady Bombers, we would like to say congratulations and you deserve it!

After a very hot weekend at Liberty Park, the Lady Bombers got their first exposure tournament of the year out of the way. It proved to be somewhat of a success because the girls learned alot and formed communication and goals throughout the tournament. Overall, it was a success! Our next tournament is in 2 weeks at the West Alabama Exposure in Tuscaloosa.

The girls did a nice job in Tuscaloosa despite the fact that we had the worst schedule ever. First game was at 8:00 on Saturday morning against the USA Bombers and our next game was not played until almost 7:00 on Saturday night against the Huntsville Sparks and at 9:30 ish against the Bandits. We had to turn around and be back at the ballpark first thing Sunday morning and play at 8:00. Poor scheduling on the TD's part but partially the fault of mother nature and the thunderstorms that came in on Saturday. We lost out of the first game on Sunday by 2 runs to the Vipers-Rodney.
Special thanks to the college coaches that took the opportunity to come out and see us play on Saturday.
