Insanity was the correct name for the weekend's tournament. The heat got insane, the competition was insane, and playing 9 games in 2 days was insane. Runner-up was a good finish. We got knocked into the loser's bracket early and fought through it playing 4 games in a row and lost to the Jax Storm 01 who hasnt lost a game yet this year. Very proud of everyone for battling the heat, the umps at times, and the teams. It was great seeing new teams and faces. Thanks to the parents for driving 3 1/2 hours each way to let the girls play.

CHAMPIONS!!!!! Yes back to back Winter League Champs for the 10U Lady Bombers. Dramatic comebacks in the first 2 games and a hard fought victory in the Championship against a solid Pride team. Every girl contributed to the wins and they never gve up, Wonderful job ladies.

Another wonderful weekend of hitting, slapping, and bunting for the Lady Bombers. We finished the Winter League undefeated scoring 108 runs and giving up only 20. 1st place seed going into the finale which will be play Sunday. Great Job ladies.

Besides the hitting and bunting clinic put on by the Lady Bombers in week 4 of the Winter League the pitching staff of Marina, Gelmi, Taylor, and Jade combined for 2 no hitters giving up 0 runs over 2 games. Defense wins championships and we got that defense clicking on all cylinders right now. Great Job to Everyone.

Saturday started off slow after we found out our 1st opponent pulled out of the tourney but we got focused and beat a very solid Blazers team on our last out bats. Sunday started red hot going 2-0 in seeds including a 10-0 shutout of Saturday's champs and then they got us back in the Championship game 6-3. We were at the fields for 14 1/2 hours on Sunday truly making it an IronWoman event. Great Job girls for never giving up.

Another hitting clinic was put on Sunday at Oscar Cooler by the Lady Bombers. We remain undefeated in the Winter League by beating the Stone Crabs 8-3 and the Patriots by 16-7. We had a lot of shots to the outfield including Taylor's hit that was 10 feet shy of going over the fence. Good job girls, way to play after being off for 3 weeks. 

Funky!! that is the only word to describe this past Sunday in Sarasota. From the beginning of the day there was a funk in the air, forgotten cleats, forgotten gloves, nails in tires, speeding tickets, it just wasnt our day. Despite all that we finished 3rd out of 7 teams going 2-2 losing to a team with a borrowed pitcher in seeding and a very determined Stone Crab team in the semi's. The Lady Bombers will get back to work over the next 2 weeks before we face the Stone Crabs again on March 18.

WOW!!! This is becoming a regular occurance for the Lady Bombers 01 team. Despite a stellar performance by Shelby Westbrook of the Wesley Chapel Wild we were able to come from behind 3-0 in our last at bats to beat the Wild 4-3. Mike, the manager of the Wild, and us have had a friendly rivalry for 3 years now and these games are always instant classics. GREAT JOB to the WILD and AWESOME JOB to my Lady Bombers!!!

For those of you that didnt make it out to Lutz on SuperBowl Sunday you missed a hitting clinic put on by the Lady Bombers 01 team. Every girl on the team had shots to the outfield putting up 25 runs in 7 innings over 2 games. Pitching was good and defense was average allowing 5 runs to score.

WOW!!! That is the only word to describe this weekend. 3 out of 5 games came down to the last at bat. The Lady Bombers went 3-2 this weekend losing to the Winter Springs Panthers both times on the last at bats including the Championship game that went to the bottom of the 7th to determine the winner. Congrats to the Panthers and the Bombers for one heck of a game. Way to play tough and never give up.

The Lady Bombers give back this holiday season by having a Christmas luncheon for needy families. The toys we collected at our Toys for Tots tourney were used to help each family and kid to have a wonderful Christmas. Thanks for everyone who helped, it was wonderful to give back to our community.
