Ladies win NYS ASA title!!!!!!!!
Lady Bandits were perfect this past weekend winning all 6 games including the semi-final and final games by mercy run-rule.
A season best effort fielding, hitting and pitching produced a huge result as the team rolled through ASA states at Bagasi this past weekend. Included were 2 wins over the tournament host team Tremors Elite from Binghamton in Game 1 and Game 4, by the scores of 4-2 and 5-1. Game 5 produced a mercy run-rule victory over the STPS Ponies 9-0 as all 9 runs were plated in the 4th inning including 8 hits featuring a leadoff double by Sammi followed later by a 2-run single also by Sammi. The inning featured a record 11 stolen bases. Also, on the mound, Sammi was nearly perfect only allowing a bloop single in the 3rd inning as the only base runner. She threw a record-low 34 pitches to just 16 batters in the victory.
In the finale, the ladies faced a tough-looking Renegades Gold team from Syracuse. The Renegades were the #1 seed and the Bandits were #2. In the second inning Sammi produced a clutch singl, plating Brooke who had singled earlier in the inning. In the 5th inning, Brooke put the iciing on the cake crushing a 1st pitch triple over the rightfielders head. In the the 6th inning, the Bandits pushed accross 8 more runs on 7 singles including a triple by Cassie. Chaylen finished the game with 3 hits, scoring 3 runs and had 2 RBI's. Cassie, Quincy, Brooke, Tori and Sammi had 2 hits apiece as the Bandits set a new record for hits in a game with 17.
Quincy picked up 4 victories with a low 1.35 ERA. Danielle continued to set the standard at secondbase with only 1 error in 30 chances making numerous spectacular plays. The team stole 61 bases in the 6 games led by Brooke with 11 swipes and Cassandra and Bri with 9. Chaylen led the way batting going 10-18 (.609 average) with 6 RBI's.
