The Louisiana All Stars won one of the toughest pools at the entire event by defeating one of the pre-tournament favorites and nationally ranked East Cobb Baseball Team on Saturday to claim ANOTHER top 10 finish at this event out of 85 teams. All Star faced two projected 1st round picks in Karsten Whitsen and Stetson Allie against East Cobb. Allie's first pitch to Tyler Caruthers was clocked at 97 mph! All Star fell to another pre-tournament favorite and eventual tournament champion, Braves Scout Team, in the playoffs.
The players represented the State of Louisiana and the Louisiana All Star Baseball Program with the utmost class, courage, and competitive nature the entire weekend! I am very proud of all the players!

The 2009 summer season came to a close this past week in Birmingham, Alabama for the remaining teams. I would like to personally thank the coaches, players, and parents for their continued support of our program!
While all our teams had their great moments as well as slumps, I take great pride in announcing that the only 4 unsigned seniors that participated in our program this summer looking for that shot to continue their baseball careers will ALL get their chance!
Ray Johnson (OF Evangel) and Zack Pohto (INF Pope John Paul) both were seen and offered on the spot in our Monroe tournament by NE Texas CC...Zack signed before we left Monroe and Ray followed suit a few days later! Caleb Templet (UTL St. Amant) also signed with Loyola University and Coach Cassard is very fortunate to have this young man! Finally, Dane Morin (RHP St. Amant) will get the chance to play at the next level at Baton Rouge Community College!
Thanks again for remaining loyal to our program and working hard to become better people as well as players! Good luck to all those players heading off to college and to those who will be putting on their respective high school jerseys this spring!
