WHAT A YEAR !!
Little league: This was a great little league season. The teams were so evenly matched that no one was sure of a victory. We had a year where no team was undefeated and no team was winless. We would like to congadulate the Pirates for winning the championship game.
ALLstars: This is shaping up to be one of Kirkwood's best ever all star seasons as well. We have 4 all star teams this year. We have two 12 and under teams and two 10 and under teams. the 4 teams entered the CV tournament and did very well. The 10c team and The 12c team won thier championship games in the tournament.
The 12 and under teams are playing in the Kirkwood tournament that starts on July 16 . The 10 and under teams will be playing in the Kirkwood tournament starting July 24. We hope that you will be able to come join us and watch our athletes play some great baseball.
Teener Ball: The teen league has also turned out to be a year to remember. Our coordinator finally had to come out of retirement and get off the couch to coach a team. We have 3 teener teams this year and it has been a pleasure watching them grow out of little league and become some very good baseball players. Our Triple A team is on their way to Double Day Field in Cooperstown to compete in a tournament and we would like to wish the best of luck.
Kirkwood Booster Club
The spring sport season is about to begin and we are as usual looking for some help with the booster club. The booster club is a dying organization that desperately needs some support. Like most non-profit organizations they have a few very active and very non-active members. We are not asking you to dedicate all your time and effort, just a little. We would love to see some fresh faces and ideas on how to make this flourish.
The club has in the past done some great things for the young athletes in the town. They have bought pitching machines, Bases for the fields and sponsored trips to Williamsport for the Little League World Series. I think with your help we could do more for the young people that bring so much happiness into our lives. If you have any interest please email me with the link on this page.
